According to recent data mining, World of Warcraft may soon be receiving a new update. The leaked image reveals that Blizzard has some exciting plans in store for players, including a new specialization, a scenario-based activity, and a mega-dungeon.
Although World of Warcraft's popularity isn't what it once was, with 1,197,461 active players as of May 2023, it still remains one of the most renowned MMORPGs ever released. Blizzard's Dragonflight expansion, launched in November 2022, brought with it new locations, an increased level cap, and the new Dracthyr playable race, which is unique in that it is available to both Horde and Alliance players, and has access to the exclusive Evoker class.
Wowhead, a website known for data mining, has recently uncovered a splash page teasing the upcoming Patch 10.1.5 for World of Warcraft. The page features images of Augmentation, Time Rifts, and the Dawn of the Infinite mega-dungeon, all of which have been previously hinted at during the update's development. With the appearance of this splash screen, fans of the popular MMORPG can anticipate the arrival of new content in the near future.
Blizzard has confirmed the release of the highly anticipated 10.1.5 update for World of Warcraft this summer. However, the exact launch date remains unknown as the data mined splash screen did not provide any clues. While the leaked image showcased the new Augmentation specialization, Time Rift activity, and The Temporal Conflux, it did not reveal any of the in-game text. Augmentation is the third Evoker Specialization in World of Warcraft, offering a unique hybrid approach that emphasizes buffing and supporting allies while still dealing damage. This makes it an ideal option for players who want to strike a balance between the Devastation and Preservation Specializations that focus on damage and healing, respectively.
The latest addition to the game is Dawn of the Infinite, a mega-dungeon that allows players to once again face off against the Infinite Dragonflight. Located in Thaldraszus on the Dragon Isles, the Temporal Conflux is guarded by the Bronze Dragonflight, who oversee the Timeways and control access to the new dungeon. Along with this, eight new Time Rifts have been introduced, which players must work to close. While many World of Warcraft fans were already aware of this upcoming content, the recently data-mined splash screen suggests that the release of Patch 10.1.5 may be approaching. However, only Blizzard knows for sure when the highly anticipated update will be released.
World of Warcraft is available on PC.
