Breaking News: Unveiling Jaw-Dropping Features of Final Fantasy 14's Epic 65 Update

Final Fantasy 14 astounds fans at the North American Fan Fest by unveiling exciting details about the highly anticipated 65 update, marking the final epic content expansion for Endwalker

Highlights

Final Fantasy 14's Patch 6.5 update, called "Growing Light," will be released in two parts, with the first part coming in early October 2023.

The update will introduce a new main story dungeon and trial, which will be familiar to fans of Final Fantasy 4.

Furthermore, the initial portion of the update will present the last Alliance Raid in the Myths of the Realm series, named Thaleia. Moreover, the Stormblood expansion will be incorporated into the extended free trial of Final Fantasy 14, granting trial players the opportunity to delve deeper into the main story content.

Final Fantasy 14 started the second day of the 2023 Las Vegas Fan Fest by giving players a preview of what they can expect in the Patch 6.5 content update. The last major update for Final Fantasy 14: Endwalker will be divided into two parts. Game producer and director Naoki "Yoshi-P" Yoshida explained what players can anticipate in each half of the update.

The highlight of the first day of the North American Fan Fest was the reveal of Final Fantasy 14's fifth expansion, Dawntrail. Dawntrail promises a new continent called Tural and introduces two new Jobs, offering players a thrilling journey of exploration for the Warrior of Light and the Scions. While fans were disappointed that the Blitzball mini-game will not be included in Final Fantasy 14, there will still be a variety of exciting updates coming soon for players to enjoy.

Final Fantasy 14's upcoming update, Patch 6.5, has been named "Growing Light" and will be released in two parts. The first part is scheduled for early October 2023 and will introduce a new main story dungeon and trial inspired by Final Fantasy 4. Players will journey to the Thirteenth Shard and explore The Lunar Subterrane dungeon, which shares its name with the final dungeon in Final Fantasy 4. Upon completing the dungeon, the Warrior of Light will confront Zeromus, an iconic antagonist from the Final Fantasy series, in the Abyssal Fracture trial.

Furthermore, Patch 6.5 will feature the final Alliance Raid of the Myths of the Realm series, Thaleia. Additionally, the free trial of Final Fantasy 14 will be expanded to include the Stormblood expansion once the 6.5 content update is released. This expansion will also bring three final dungeons from Stormblood to the Duty Support system, providing free trial players with ample access to main story content. As for whether the expanded free trial will grant access to optional Stormblood content like the Unending Coils of Bahamut (Ultimate) raid and The Great Hunt trial from the Monster Hunter: World crossover, only time will reveal.

Players of Final Fantasy 14 will need to wait until Patch 6.55 to experience the conclusion of the main story called Growing Light. Furthermore, this patch will also introduce content like relic upgrades and a crossover with Fall Guys at the Gold Saucer. With the 6.5 patch series and the upcoming Dawntrail expansion, Final Fantasy 14 players will soon have an abundance of content to enjoy. The game is currently available on PC, PS4, and PS5, with an Xbox Series X/S version set to be released in Spring 2024.
