Billionaire Ken Langone has given his endorsement to Nikki Haley's presidential campaign, signaling the support of the Republican wealthy elite as the primary alternative to Donald Trump. According to Langone, Haley's approach is smart, she is qualified, and her leadership style is what the American people need in these times of turmoil. He emphasized the importance of having statesmanlike and elegant leadership, especially considering the state of affairs in recent years.
Langone, one of the co-founders of Home Depot, is the most recent addition to the increasing number of wealthy donors supporting the former South Carolina governor. The network linked to billionaire Charles Koch declared its endorsement for her last week, along with North Carolina retail magnate Art Pope. Additionally, earlier this week, LinkedIn co-founder and billionaire Democratic donor Reid Hoffman contributed $250,000 to support her campaign.
Langone expressed his preference for GOP contender Ron DeSantis, but stated that the Florida governor's "numbers aren't moving."
Langone informed Fox News that "the writing is on the wall." He also mentioned Nikki Haley's significant increase in popularity. He emphasized the importance of defeating Joe Biden if he becomes the nominee, asserting that the chaos must come to an end. Langone explained that he did not endorse Trump because he feels that the former president's time has passed and criticized his behavior during his last days in the White House.
Langone expressed his view on Trump's actions during the final months of his presidency, calling it disgraceful. According to Langone, Trump's response to the events of January 6 was inadequate, stating that all Trump had to do was ask the people to go home. Instead, Trump allegedly watched the events unfold for three hours without taking action, which Langone deemed unacceptable for America.
