The 3D concept art model for Ben Affleck's Batman suit in The Flash has been unveiled on social media and appears superior to its depiction in the final film. The opening act of The Flash heavily references the DCEU, particularly through Ben Affleck's portrayal of Bruce Wayne/Batman. The film kicks off with Barry assisting Batman in foiling a robbery in Gotham City, which resulted in the destruction of several buildings. This action-packed scene showcases Batman in an exhilarating chase, marking the culmination of Affleck's interpretation of the character.
Recently shared by the Twitter account Flash Film News, the concept art for Affleck's Batsuit in The Flash's opening sequence has been made public. The model provides a more detailed and comprehensive view of the suit, something that was not fully achievable in The Flash due to the fast-paced nature of Batman's initial action scene. Featuring a blue cowl, cape, and a light grey, armor-plated undersuit, Ben Affleck's costume in The Flash appears more fully realized in the concept art compared to its presentation in the final film, presenting a significantly more impressive visual.
Was Ben Affleck’s Final Batsuit The Worst Ever?
The final batsuit worn by Ben Affleck in The Flash received mixed reviews, despite being visually improved in concept art. The anticipation of seeing a grey and blue batsuit in live-action was exciting for many fans, but the excessive armor plating, unnecessary straps, buckles, and questionable design choices made it one of the weakest batsuits in film. While it did surpass the batsuit from Batman & Robin, it is still considered Ben Affleck's least impressive look as Gotham's Dark Knight.
The batsuit from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice remains Affleck's best costume as Batman. Even the armored batsuit in that film was suitable within the movie's context and looked impressive. Although the concept art for The Flash made the batsuit look better than it appeared in the film, it would have been preferable without the unnecessary armor plating and additions, opting instead for a traditional grey and blue suit. Therefore, Ben Affleck's final batsuit in The Flash was not the worst in live-action, but it fell short of expectations.
