Stunning Redesign of Ben Affleck's Batsuit in Classic Blue and Gray

Ben Affleck's Batman batsuit gets a new classic blue and gray redesign from a fan user, which stands out despite the suit design being somewhat reflected in The Flash trailer. Affleck's portrayal of Batman is considered to be the most faithful adaptation to the comics, showcasing the character during his darkest moments in Batman v Superman. However, his character's journey was always meant to end with a more optimistic Batman. Though audiences may not see this transformation as initially intended, The Flash is expected to pay tribute to this growth with a classic blue cape and cowl, providing an emotional farewell to Affleck's Batman.

Batman's iconic blue cape and cowl in The Flash deviates from the traditional comic book design that was popular from the 1940s to the mid-80s. However, a Reddit user named DownerSteve has come up with a new design for Affleck's suit that is more comic-accurate. The gray fabric from Batman v Superman, which was previously worn by Affleck, is now paired with a blue cape and cowl. The new suit features taller bat ears, blue boots and gauntlets, and the classic yellow belt and oval symbol. The only missing element is the classic trunks. DownerSteve attempted to incorporate trunks, but it didn't work well for live-action. However, longer trunks might have made it possible, as seen in some cosplays.

Seeing Affleck don the classic design in The Flash would have been a dream come true for fans, but the blue style is a fitting choice given the character's journey. Affleck's portrayal of Batman started in a dark place and evolved into a more hopeful one after the release of Zack Snyder's Justice League. This transition is reflected in the costume's color, which also represents the actor's mental state while playing the role. The blue style is a nod to Affleck's positive experience on The Flash, in contrast to the Justice League re-shoots.

The Flash will premiere in theaters on June 16, 2023.
