Bebe Rexha and David Guetta gave an electrifying performance of their songs at the 2023 Billboard Music Awards. The duo performed their 2022 hit, "I'm Good (Blue)," which has been nominated for Top Collaboration, Top Billboard Global Song, and Top Dance/Electronic Song. They also showcased their 2023 release, "One in a Million." "I'm Good (Blue)" made a notable achievement by spending 55 weeks at No. 1 on Billboard's Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart, making it the second longest-running No. 1 song in the history of the chart, following "Happier" by Marshmello and Bastille, which held the top spot for 69 weeks.

The performance began with Rexha accompanied by an orchestra, delivering a slower rendition of "I’m Good (Blue)". As the song segued into "One in a Million," she transformed her attire from a ballgown to dark leggings paired with a corset top and dazzling boots. Taking the stage with dancers amidst a crowd of fans, she created a captivating atmosphere.

After the performance, Rexha graciously accepted the Top Dance/Electronic Song award. She expressed her overwhelming gratitude, acknowledging the incredible journey and unexpected global success of the anthem. Thanking her fans wholeheartedly, she marveled at the extent to which the song has resonated.

Guetta graciously expressed his gratitude in his acceptance speech, stating, "I cannot express how grateful I am. This is truly extraordinary. Bebe, you mean the world to me. Thank you for being a significant part of my life. I believe that we bring good fortune to each other. I am immensely proud of you. I have witnessed your journey from a songwriter to a phenomenal superstar."

Back in 2017, Rexha and Guetta co-wrote a track called "I'm Good (Blue)", which they initially decided to put on hold. However, years later, Rexha was taken aback when she stumbled upon an unofficial version of their recording on TikTok. She shared her surprise in an interview with Variety in October 2022, explaining, "While casually scrolling on TikTok, I heard a girl singing a remix of 'Blue'. It reminded me of the idea that David and I had discussed years ago." This remix was inspired by Eiffel 65's iconic 1998 song "Blue (Da Ba Dee)", which ultimately influenced their collaboration.

Rexha belatedly discovered, after sharing the video with her social media manager, that she was actually playing her own song. "I visit YouTube and notice that it has garnered 30 million views," she recollected. "I was informed that it resurfaces on YouTube each year, becomes a viral sensation, and eventually gets removed."

Upon discovering the popularity of the unreleased song, Bebe Rexha took the initiative to re-record her vocals and motivate Guetta to complete the production, with the goal of releasing the official version. Following its release, the track achieved chart-topping success, which left Guetta in awe. He expressed his gratitude for the current era, where individuals have the power to select their preferred music.

Regarding the song's success, Rexha attributed it to the familiarity of its sound. "People have a strong affinity for nostalgia, and the 2000s are making a comeback in both fashion and music," she stated. "Additionally, after spending three years confined, people just want to experience happiness and feel good."

On the other hand, Guetta believed that the answer was less complex. "Sometimes, when you manage to convey a simple emotion, people can really connect with it," he observed. "Creating something simple without it feeling cliché is quite challenging. Sometimes it succeeds, and sometimes it doesn't. However, this time it surpassed our wildest expectations."
