Bebe Rexha Opens Up About Heartbreak Following Body-Shaming Incident: The Empowering Story You Need to Read

Bebe Rexha bravely opens up about her recent breakup during a captivating London performance, leaving fans in awe The talented singer shares her emotional journey after receiving body-shaming texts from Keyan Safyari, empowering others to embrace self-love and stand against negativity

During a recent concert in London on Friday, July 28, Bebe Rexha, 33, announced her breakup with boyfriend Keyan Safyari. She disclosed this information while performing and mentioning that she might get emotional, urging the crowd to support her during her song "Atmosphere", as reported by E! News.

During her performance of "I Am" later in the show, Rexha noticed a fan holding a sign that said, "You are enough." The heartfelt message moved her, and she playfully remarked, "You're really trying to make me cry, huh?"

Rexha recently announced her split from Safyari, which coincided with her decision to share screenshots of text messages allegedly sent by him, criticizing her weight. On July 16, Rexha took to her Instagram Story to reveal these messages, leading some fans to question the state of their relationship.

"I have always maintained my commitment to honesty with you, so when I noticed the transformation in your appearance, I chose to address it directly. That was the context of our conversation when you posed the question," the message stated. "Considering my concern for you, would you prefer if I were to deceive you with falsehoods?"

Safyari then brought attention to Rexha's weight gain, illustrating that she had added "35 pounds" to her body.

He claimed that it was obvious she had gained weight and her face had changed. He questioned whether he should ignore it and act as if it didn't happen. He also mentioned that he had gained just 3 pounds and she had called him names for it. He emphasized that this didn't mean she didn't love him. He believed that she was using her anger, anxiety, or insecurities as a way to find an excuse to break up. He reassured her that he had always found her beautiful and loved her regardless. He advised her to write things down and speak to a therapist to identify the underlying issue.

The couple started dating in 2020. Prior to revealing Safyari's offensive messages, Rexha silenced body-shamers through a series of assertive tweets.

"I am aware that I gained weight," she expressed on June 23. "I am fed up with people discussing it. Moving on!!!!!!"

In a later post, she further stated, "People experience fluctuations in weight as a part of life, and we can never truly understand what others are going through with medications, illnesses, and more..."

Just a month earlier, Rexha candidly discussed her diagnosis of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and its influence on her self-perception. "We are now in the year 2023 and it is disheartening that discussions about body weight are still prevalent," she expressed during an appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show in May, sharing her decision to address online body-shamers.

Rexha highlighted that there may be numerous women who are likely grappling with PCOS without realizing it. Referring to her own diagnosis, she mentioned how she went through a rapid weight gain of around 30 pounds, if not more. Despite this, she emphasized the importance of maintaining a positive mindset and spreading love to others.
