Kyle Walker's Surprise Decision Amidst Bayern Munich Interest Sends Shockwaves Through Football World

Kyle Walker prioritizes staying at Man City, aiming to extend his contract despite Bayern Munich's interest No plans to sell him as City values his contribution Uncertain futures for Gundogan and Silva Stay updated on the summer transfer window with Sky Sports

Kyle Walker is reportedly inclined to remain at Manchester City despite Bayern Munich's interest in signing him. According to Sky in Germany, Bayern is engaged in advanced talks with the City defender, but the 33-year-old is keen on staying at the Etihad and securing an extension to his current contract.

Walker's existing contract still has one year remaining, and there is no intention from City to offload him during the summer transfer window. In the Champions League final, City's head coach Pep Guardiola chose to keep Walker as a substitute, opting for Nathan Ake in the defensive line instead.

Guardiola expressed in April that Walker was not capable of playing in City's system, resulting in John Stones shifting from defense to midfield during a period when the English player had been benched. Guardiola stated, "He is unable to do it. Kyle will always possess speed; even at 60 years old, he would be the fastest player in this room. However, to excel in an interior position, one must exhibit refined movements, and Walker lacks some of these essential attributes."

Walker, who transferred to City from Tottenham in 2017 for a hefty sum of £50m, has amassed an impressive collection of accolades during his six-year tenure at the club. Among his accomplishments are five Premier League titles, two FA Cups, four League Cups, and the highly coveted Champions League trophy.

Bernardo Silva has long been linked with a move away from Man City

Man City will not stand in Bernardo Silva's way if he wishes to leave the club.

Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona have both expressed their interest in signing the Portugal international, and as in previous cases, it will be up to the player and his representatives to request a transfer and present a suitable offer to the treble-winners for their consideration.

Silva's potential departure from City was contemplated last summer, but ultimately did not come to fruition.

Meanwhile, City are continuing talks over the signing of midfielder Mateo Kovacic from Chelsea.

Ilkay Gundogan kisses the Champions League trophy

Barcelona are looking to sign at least one new midfielder this summer and remain keen on City captain Ilkay Gundogan on a free transfer.

The negotiations between Gundogan and City involve discussing a new contract as his current one is nearing its expiration at the end of the month. However, there is a disagreement regarding the length of the proposed deal for the 32-year-old. The offer consists of a one-year contract with the possibility of extending it for an additional 12 months.

Who will be on the move this summer when the transfer window opens on June 14 and closes at 11pm on September 1 in England and midnight in Scotland?
