Jason Tartick is sharing his experience of seeing Kaitlyn Bristowe for the first time after ending their engagement. According to Tartick, there was a palpable tension between them, although he didn't know what to anticipate. However, he described the encounter as positive, with both parties being friendly, cordial, and respectful towards each other.
The Bachelor Nation members gathered together to celebrate the wedding of former Bachelor host Chris Harrison and Lauren Zima on November 4th. "I hadn't seen her at all before that weekend," he admitted on Monday. "The last time I laid eyes on her was when I moved out."
Tartick remarked that there was a crowd present, which included Wells Adams, the bartender on Bachelor in Paradise and a former contestant. When Tartick and Bristowe had their initial conversation, he noticed that they were being playfully teased by the onlookers. He couldn't contain his laughter and when Bristowe asked him why he was laughing, he replied, "It's the peanut gallery."

Tartick characterized this breakup as distinct from his previous ones due to the extended duration of his relationship with Bristowe – five years, including two years of engagement – and their shared ownership of dogs named Ramen and Pinot.
He expressed that the duration of their time together has fostered a sense of wellbeing and a strictly friendly dynamic. He remains uncertain about the future.
In August, they announced through a joint Instagram post that they had ended their engagement. They expressed their gratitude towards those who allowed them the time and space to process this significant decision, acknowledging the range of emotions and adjustments that come with it.
They expressed, "Maintaining our friendship is of utmost importance to both of us. We sincerely appreciate being able to conclude our engagement with love and respect for each other. Although it is a heartbreaking and sorrowful goodbye, our affection and esteem for one another will remain everlasting."
Bristowe later stated that Tartick did not shield her from the online negativity that accompanied their separation. (Tartick uploaded a video of him moving out of their shared residence, which included scenes of their dogs appearing dispirited as he packed their belongings.)
"On her "Off the Vine" podcast in September, she mentioned that when he was leaning into that sad state, she felt a sense of disappointment, as it made it appear that she was trying to separate him from their dogs."
"In a later revelation during the same month, it was confirmed that Bristowe decided to unfollow Tartick on Instagram. As for Tartick, he took to his own social media page in October to vaguely reference the breakup while commemorating his birthday."
“Dear 35, you’re off to a great start … please be better than 34,” he wrote. “Love, me.”
