The Palm Beach Gardens Police Department has provided an update on the passing of professional golfer Grayson Murray.
According to a press release issued on Tuesday, May 28, the authorities stated, "The Palm Beach Gardens Police Department is currently investigating the death of Grayson C. Murray, a white male born on October 1, 1993. The incident took place inside a residence in Palm Beach Gardens. The discovery of the deceased individual was made on Saturday, May 25, 2024, around 11:00 a.m."
The police are currently investigating the death of Murray. They mentioned that their initial inquiry has not shown any signs of foul play and there is no risk to the public. More details will not be provided until the investigation is complete.
Murray, who was 30 years old, was discovered deceased on Saturday, May 25. In a statement released by his parents, Eric and Terry Murray, they disclosed that their son had passed away by suicide.
The Murrays expressed their disbelief over the past day, grappling with the reality that their son is no longer with them. They shared their feelings in a statement through the PGA, stating, "It’s surreal that we not only have to admit it to ourselves, but that we also have to acknowledge it to the world. It’s a nightmare."
Acknowledging the overwhelming sense of loss and confusion, the couple admitted, "We have so many questions that have no answers. But one."
Grayson was definitely loved by many. His brother Cameron, sister Erica, extended family, friends, fellow players, and even those reading this all had a special place in their hearts for him. He was truly loved and his presence will be greatly missed.
Murray is survived by his parents, siblings, and fiancée Christiana Ritchie.
A two-time PGA Tour champion, Murray was also remembered by his decades-long coach and mentor Ted Kiegiel.
