Professional golfer Grayson Murray, aged 30, has passed away. The news was confirmed by PGA commissioner Jay Monahan on Saturday, May 25. Monahan expressed his deep sadness, stating, "We were devastated to learn – and are heartbroken to share – that PGA Tour player Grayson Murray passed away this morning. I am at a loss for words. The PGA Tour is a family, and when you lose a member of your family, you are never the same. We mourn Grayson and pray for comfort for his loved ones."

Murray's cause of death has not been disclosed, and his family has not made any public statements about their loss.

PGA Tour Commissioner Monahan shared in a statement on the PGA Tour website that he offered his condolences to Grayson's parents. They requested that tournament play continue, as they believed Grayson would have wanted it that way. Despite the difficulty, the PGA Tour will honor their wishes.

The PGA is currently hosting the Charles Schwab Challenge tournament at the Colonial Golf Course in Fort Worth, Texas until Sunday, May 26. Murray had to withdraw before the first round on Thursday, May 23 due to an undisclosed illness. It is unclear if his illness was a factor in his passing.

Murray, who turned pro in 2015, participated in his first Masters competition last month. He also achieved victory at the Sony Open in January.
