A talented Pokemon fan and artist has skillfully recreated Fallarbor Town from Pokemon Emerald using their unique pixel art style. In addition, they have cleverly hidden a few Easter eggs for fellow trainers to discover and enjoy. The artist proudly shared their impressive creation on social media, where it received high praise from other Pokemon enthusiasts. Alongside the compliments, fans eagerly speculated about the hidden surprises awaiting them in the artwork.
Pokemon Emerald, originally released in 2004 for the Game Boy Advance, is the third installment of the third generation Pokemon games. It came out two years after Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire. Some features from Pokemon Emerald were carried over into the 2014 remakes, Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, for the Nintendo 3DS. While Pokemon Emerald has inspired countless fan arts, representations of the Hoenn region's towns are relatively scarce. Nevertheless, one dedicated individual decided to change that by skillfully depicting Fallarbor Town through the medium of pixel art.
A Reddit user by the name of addyxiii, also known as pixeladdy on Instagram, took it upon themselves to recreate Fallarbor Town as it was originally depicted in Pokemon Emerald. However, they decided to add a personal touch and hidden surprises before sharing their work on the Pokemon subreddit. Renowned for their previous Pokemon anime artwork, such as Ash releasing his Butterfree, addyxiii incorporated references to both Pokemon Emerald and the Pokemon anime in their latest pixel art creation. In Pokemon's third generation games, Fallarbor Town is situated near Mount Chimney, an active volcano. Within addyxiii's artwork, notable locations like the Battle Tent and Pokemon Center were faithfully recreated from Pokemon Emerald, and observant Pokemon fans also spotted beloved anime characters such as Brock, Nurse Joy, and Chansey.
The post by addyxiii gained more than 830 upvotes on the Pokemon subreddit within just two days. However, addyxiii teased that they had hidden one Easter egg in plain sight, sparking speculation among fellow Pokemon trainers. After several guesses, a few astute trainers correctly surmised that the concealed Easter egg was a depiction of the elusive Jirachi. Known as the Wish Pokemon, Jirachi made its debut in Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire as a Mythical Pokemon typically obtainable through in-person events or the Mystery Gift feature. Despite its rarity, Jirachi has consistently remained a popular subject for Pokemon fan art throughout the years.
At the time of writing, certain Pokemon like Jirachi, showcased in the pixel art, were unavailable in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. It is yet to be determined whether or when these Pokemon depicted in addyxiii's artwork will be introduced in the Paldea region.
