Andy Cohen, aged 55, expressed his enthusiasm for his ongoing involvement with Bravo. In an interview with E! News on Tuesday, November 7, he shared his excitement about hosting Watch What Happens Live, overseeing show reunions, and producing various reality TV shows. Jokingly, he stated that he will only retire from his role when he is forcibly removed, declaring, "I'll hang it up when they kick me out."
After joining Bravo in 2004 as vice president of original programming, Cohen took on the role of executive producer for the debut of The Real Housewives franchise in 2006 with the show Orange County. Approaching nearly two decades with the network, Cohen reflects on his journey. "Next year marks my 20th year at Bravo, and when I look back at those early days and all of this, it's truly amazing," he said with excitement. "It's something that makes you pause and appreciate the journey."
While Cohen has considered potential successors for his various positions upon retirement, he playfully hinted, "I do have a few thoughts that I may share at a later date, but I can't say I'm giving it serious consideration at the moment."
Cohen participated in an "Ask Andy" panel at the 2023 BravoCon in Las Vegas last Friday, November 3. He discussed various topics during the Q&A, including his personal life and drama with reality stars. While acknowledging rumors about Jenna Lyons leaving The Real Housewives of New York City, Cohen expressed his hope that all the stars will be back for the show's fifteenth season.
He also confirmed that the focus of the upcoming season 14 of The Real Housewives of New Jersey will not primarily revolve around the ongoing feud between Melissa Gorga and Teresa Giudice. During the panel, he expressed that what is refreshing about the season is their intense dislike for each other. Once that conflict is resolved, the show can explore other interesting storylines and new alliances among the cast members.
Regarding his love life, Cohen disclosed that he is currently not dating anyone. He humorously added, "I'm on various dating apps like Tinder, Raya, Hinge, and Grindr. I'm on all the platforms available."
Cohen also addressed a widely circulated video from June, featuring him sitting on a man's lap. "That happened during Gay Pride!" he explained. He further clarified, "I'm currently single, and there's no reason for me to be ashamed of enjoying myself on a night off from parenting."
His friend, Jeff Lewis, who was also present at the panel, probed further, asking if Cohen had stayed in touch with the unidentified man after their public appearance.
“We text,” he replied.
Cohen has two kids, Benjamin, 4, and Lucy, 18 months.
