Alexa PenaVega, pregnant with her fourth child with Carlos PenaVega, shared about her recent hospital stay and diagnosis of partial placental abruption.
In a "Pregnancy Vlog" on Instagram, Alexa, 35, revealed that she had been in the hospital for five days. She noticed some bleeding about a week and a half ago, which was concerning since she was in her third trimester. Given her pregnancy history, she decided to get checked out just to be safe. Luckily, the bleeding stopped, she was released, and everything was fine.
After being discharged from her first hospital visit, Alexa found herself faced with a frightening discovery a few days later. Waking up at 5 a.m. and heading to the bathroom, she was shocked to see "an insane amount of blood."
Reflecting on the moment, Alexa admitted that while she hadn't experienced fear or panic before, she couldn't deny the seriousness of the situation. "I knew right away that this was not good. There was just so much blood everywhere."
The former Spy Kids actress immediately switched into "mom mode" when she noticed something was wrong with the baby. She woke up Carlos, 34, and they rushed to the hospital together. Although she was worried at first because she didn't feel the baby moving, she found comfort in feeling the baby kick on the way to the emergency room.

Carlos PenaVega and Alexa PenaVega shared a sweet moment together. Alexa mentioned that their baby in her tummy usually loves moving around a lot, but this time, the baby wasn't moving at all. She prayed and tried everything to get the baby to move, but nothing worked. However, on the drive over, the baby finally started kicking and squirming around, making them realize that the baby was probably just asleep. It was a scary moment, but everything turned out fine in the end.
Alexa revealed her diagnosis, saying that after spending a lot of time in the hospital, undergoing tests, and the bleeding calming down, it appears that she has experienced a partial separation of her placenta from her uterus.
She further explained that if things continue on the same path, her pregnancy will remain low-risk and she will be able to go back home.
