Ashley Eckstein, known for her role as Ahsoka Tano in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, has regrettably denied rumors of her appearance in the upcoming Ahsoka Disney+ TV show. Despite being the original voice of Ahsoka Tano and portraying the character in various animated TV shows, including Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, the live-action adaptation of Ahsoka's character was given to Rosario Dawson by Dave Filoni, a filmmaker at Lucasfilm. Although Eckstein had visited the set and thoroughly enjoyed the experience, she clarified that she does not have a cameo in the show, dispelling persistent speculations among fans of the Star Wars franchise.
I had the incredible opportunity to be invited for a set visit recently. Just to clarify, it wasn't a cameo appearance as many people seem to think. I don't actually have a cameo in the first season. However, I remain hopeful that in the future, whether it's for a potential second season or a spin-off, I might have the chance to do a cameo. Despite not having a role, I still had the chance to visit the set and it was truly an amazing experience. It reminded me of when Jodi Benson visited the set of The Little Mermaid live-action adaptation - a moment filled with excitement and joy.
Will Ashley Eckstein Ever Have A Live-Action Star Wars Cameo?
It's unfortunate to hear that Eckstein won't be making a guest appearance in Ahsoka, as it would have been a great way to pay tribute to Ahsoka's original voice actress, especially considering her dedication to the Star Wars fan community. However, it's probably better that this Disney+ TV show doesn't overload on cameo appearances, especially since Ahsoka is beginning to feel like Star Wars Rebels season 5 and is likely filled with references to that particular animated series.
Nevertheless, the future looks promising for the character of Ahsoka Tano. With it being the latest addition to the lineup of Disney+ TV shows set in The Mandalorian era, it marks another step closer to an actual movie directed by Filoni himself. Additionally, Dawson has expressed her excitement about the possibility of a second season of Ahsoka, though this hinges on the reception of the first season. With all of this in mind, there should be ample opportunities for Ashley Eckstein to make a live-action cameo.
