Adam Driver, who portrayed Kylo Ren in the latest Star Wars trilogy, has made it clear that he will not be returning to the popular sci-fi series anytime soon. During a recent appearance on the SmartLess podcast, he acknowledged that Lucasfilm is expanding the Star Wars universe, but stated that he will not be involved. "I'm not doing any more," he stated definitively. When asked if this decision was due to Kylo Ren's fate in The Rise of Skywalker, Driver confirmed that it was indeed a contributing factor. Prior to this, Driver had discussed how Kylo Ren's character arc in the new Star Wars trilogy was initially intended to unfold differently. In the final movie, Kylo Ren transforms into Ben Solo. However, the original intention was for Ben to spiral further into becoming the Sith lord throughout the Star Wars sequel trilogy.
While Driver has moved on from Star Wars, Ridley is set to reprise her role as Rey in an upcoming Star Wars film. This film is one of three new Star Wars projects in development, with the others being a "dawn of the Jedi" film from director James Mangold, known for Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, and another set during the New Republic era, from Dave Filoni, the creator of The Mandalorian.

As a hard fan of Star Wars, I am disappointed to hear that Adam Driver will not be returning to the franchise. I have been a fan of his acting since his breakout role in Girls, and I think he brought a lot of depth and complexity to the character of Kylo Ren. I understand that he wants to move on to other projects, but I will miss seeing him in the Star Wars universe.
I am also intrigued by the upcoming Star Wars films that are in development. I think it is great that Lucasfilm is expanding the universe and exploring different time periods and characters. I am particularly excited about the "dawn of the Jedi" film, as I think it will be interesting to see how the Jedi Order was founded. I am also looking forward to seeing what Dave Filoni does with the New Republic era, as he has a proven track record of creating great Star Wars content.
