8 Star Wars Characters Who Should Have Their Own Disney Plus TV Show

Star Wars has a plethora of interesting characters who haven’t had their time to shine, but there are a select few who deserve their own shows. With the Star Wars galaxy rapidly expanding and more and more interesting stories being told onscreen, some characters are still being left in the dust. Some minor characters, or even main characters, haven’t had their backstories fully flushed out - but their origins are likely compelling, and their stories are worthy of telling.

Yoda: The Grandmaster of Mystery

Jedi Grandmaster Yoda is one of the oldest beings in all of Star Wars; yet, despite his many appearances, there’s little known about his Jedi upbringing and origin. Yoda’s species still doesn’t even have a name. Audiences know that Yoda was about 900 years old when he died and had been training Jedi for about 800 years, but it would be interesting to see Yoda’s journey of coming into his own as a Jedi. As someone who has trained generations of Jedi, it would be cool to see him find his way as a teacher. This could be an interesting storyline to pursue in something like Tales of the Jedi season 2.

Poe Dameron: Rebel Roots

Poe Dameron is one of the best characters from the Star Wars sequel trilogy, made evident by Oscar Isaac’s amazing portrayal. The character has been a rebel since the very beginning, with both of his parents being former members of the Rebel Alliance. Poe’s early life has been explored in Star Wars comics, but it would be interesting to see those stories make their way to the screen. With Poe possibly returning in Rey Skywalker’s New Jedi Order movie, Poe’s origin of being born and raised on Yavin IV should be explored. There are likely many rebel stories to tell, which could inform how he became the rebel audiences know and love.

Tala Durith: From Rebel Officer to Hero

Tala Durith was introduced in Obi-Wan Kenobi episode 3 as a rebel Imperial officer, who was secretly helping Jedi escape via The Path. She became a vital ally to Obi-Wan Kenobi and helped him and a young Leia Organa escape Darth Vader. Tala was a very interesting character who died before audiences could really get to know her; however, exploring her origins as an Imperial officer turned rebel would be fascinating. A limited Disney+ series could expand on some of Tala’s stories and show the development of The Path. Additionally, other Star Wars characters such Jedi Quinlan Vos could appear as people who helped establish The Path.
