Haro Aso, the acclaimed author of the Alice in Borderland series, is also the creator of the popular Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead manga. The manga began serialization in Shogakukan’s Monthly Sunday, Gene-X and has since been collected into fifteen tankobon volumes as of September 19, 2023.
On January 6, 2023, it was announced that the series would be adapted into an anime television show as part of a collaboration between Viz Media, Shogakukan, and Shogakukan-Shueisha Productions. The anime, directed by Kazuki Kawagoe, was produced at Bug Films, a new studio that quickly gained fame alongside the series.

The story continues with Akira, being pursued by a horde of zombies, coming up with life-changing words in a moment of desperation: "You don't have to go to the office from today onwards, do you?" This marks the beginning of Akira's journey to live life to the fullest, including confessions, joint parties, traveling Japan, and more, after being freed from the clutches of his oppressive company. Now, Akira's "100 Things I Want to Do Before Becoming a Zombie" journey begins!
