In order to escape from the terrifying Yamagami manor without being caught by the killer, Takemina proposed using his gambling skills to devise a strategy for their escape. Drawing from his experience and knowledge, Takemina explained to Izuna how casino dealers manipulate customers by avoiding large payouts to keep them playing for longer periods of time.

Takemina suspected that the exit from the manor might be a trap, given the dealers' deceptive tactics. This theory was proven true when the killer, Sugizo, accidentally killed his own grandfather immediately upon exiting the manor.

Sugizo eventually encountered the duo, but they managed to escape and hide in a coffin. Takemina and Izuna emerged from their hiding spot and sought another way out, only to be caught. In a failed attempt to distract Sugizo, Izuna ended up embarrassing herself.

Suddenly, Takemina noticed that the ceiling of the underground tunnel was precarious. He encouraged Sugizo to smash Izuna with all his might. As Sugizo raised his heavy mallet, the unstable ceiling collapsed, crushing and immobilizing him.

Eventually, the pair found fuel and made their way to the rest of the group. On the way, Izuna confessed to Takemina that he was a great person to have around in tough situations.
