Where to Find Electric LizalfosWhere to Use Electric Lizalfos Horns & Electric Lizalfos Tails
In Breath of the Wild, Lizalfos, a classic monster from Legend of Zelda, made a comeback with various new types. Continuing in Tears of the Kingdom as a direct sequel, Lizalfos remain a formidable enemy just like their BotW counterparts.
Among the types of Lizalfos, some possess the ability to breathe fire, while others breathe ice. Additionally, the Electric Lizalfos have the unique ability to generate an electric field that can shock anything within its range. While it can be debated whether they are the most challenging within their species, their electric fields undeniably make them a bothersome foe. Unfortunately, in Tears of the Kingdom, players are required to harvest their horns and tails to craft several armor sets.
Where to Find Electric Lizalfos
Link cannot find the Electric Lizalfos in the Hebra or Eldin region; they prefer the Gerudo Wasteland and the Faron Region instead. When searching in the Gerudo Wasteland, players will need level 2 cold/heat resistance depending on the time of day. On the other hand, Faron does not experience arid or frigid temperatures. However, thunderstorms frequently occur in Faron, so players should monitor the skies and remove any metal gear if necessary.
When players strike the horn of an Electric Lizalfos, it releases a dome of electricity. To successfully aim for headshots, players should maintain a fair distance from the creature. If they are too close, the dome will reach Link and cause him to drop his weapon.
Players who have obtained the Camera from the quest "Camera Work in The Depths" and the Sensor + from the side quest "Presenting Sensor+" have the ability to capture a photo of an Electric Lizalfos and track its whereabouts. To initiate the quest "Camera Work in The Depths," players should accept it from Josha after activating the first Skyview Tower with Link.
"Presenting Sensor+" requires additional effort to unlock. Players must first complete one of the main quests called "Regional Phenomena" and obtain the Auto-Build Ability from the Great Abandoned Central Mine located in The Depths. Once acquired, they should then approach Josha and demonstrate the Auto-Build Ability to her while also repairing Robbie's hot-air balloon. Finally, players should seek out Robbie and inform him of the completed tasks, prompting him to relocate to the Ancient Tech Lab situated in Hateno Village.
Gerudo Wasteland
To evade the Electric Lizalfos lurking beneath the sand, Link should don the protective Lizalfos Mask or Majora's Mask. Additionally, equipping the Sand Boots is crucial, along with maintaining level 2 heat and cold resistance, contingent upon the current time in-game.
Players should search for clues in the area spanning from the Karahatag Shrine (-3714, -3618, 0044) to the Irasak Shrine (-4159, -3824, 0028). Additionally, be cautious of an Electric Lizalfos located north of the Karahatag Shrine at coordinates -3762, -3423, 0020.
Faron Region (Dracozu Lake)
Electric Lizalfos can also be encountered in the Faron Region, particularly near Dracozu Lake and the Lakeside Stable. To locate them, follow these directions:
Start at the Lakeside Stable and make your way across the river towards the tent close to the dondons at coordinates (1569, -3351, 0060). Once there, head west and you should spot an Electric Lizalfos standing near the edge, watching over the river.
From Dracozu Lake, go south. There are two Electric Lizalfos swimming in Harker Lake (0925, -2859, 0022).
Where to Use Electric Lizalfos Horns & Electric Lizalfos Tails
Unfortunately, obtaining Electric Lizalfos Tails is more challenging than acquiring their horns. Players are more likely to receive an Electric Lizalfos Horn for each Electric Lizalfos they defeat, while obtaining a tail proves to be a more elusive task. However, both the horns and the tails can be used to infuse weapons with an electric attack. If players opt to fuse an Electric Lizalfos Tail, they can create a powerful whip.
Another way to use them is for upgrading armor. The following armor sets will require Electric Lizalfos Horns and Electric Lizalfos Tails:
