Zack Snyder Breaks New Ground on Netflix as First Director with Profile Icon

Zack Snyder breaks new ground on Netflix by becoming the first director to have his own profile icon, showcasing his continued impact despite a recent movie setback

Director Zack Snyder is currently the sole director to have his own Netflix profile icon, despite the failure of his recent movie on the platform.

One of Netflix's standout features is the ability for users to personalize their profiles with headshots of various TV and movie characters.

Fans can now choose their favorite character icons from shows like Squid Game and Ginny and Georgia to personalize their profiles. Director Zack Snyder has recently made history on the platform by receiving his own personal Netflix icon.

Zack Snyder becomes first first director with a Netflix icon

Following the debut of his movie Rebel Moon Part One: A Child of Fire in early December, Netflix's official Twitter account revealed that Snyder now has his own iconic headshot for fans to personalize their profiles with.

Netflix wrote, "Zack Snyder is already legendary and being the first director to have his own profile icon only solidifies this fact." They also attached a headshot of Snyder to their statement. Despite working with other iconic directors like Joel and Ethan Coen, Alfonso Cuarón, and Guillermo del Toro, Snyder is the only director to be given this honor by the site.

Snyder has an iconic body of work, having directed movies like Watchmen, Man of Steel, and Justice League. However, his latest venture with Netflix was not well received. In our two-star review, we pointed out that the movie felt like a "violent space opera, with action awkwardly and frustratingly toned down for a more family-friendly viewing experience, with a few scattered intense moments."

Dexerto was not the only one unimpressed with the film - Rebel Moon Part One received a 17% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, the director's lowest score to date. Despite the film's lackluster reception, Netflix still values the director's contributions to their platform and to filmmaking in general.

Editor's P/S

As a hard fan of Zack Snyder, I am thrilled to see him receive this honor from Netflix. Snyder is a visionary director who has created some of the most iconic films of our time, and it's only fitting that he should be the first director to have his own profile icon on the platform. Despite the recent setback with Rebel Moon Part One, Snyder's body of work speaks for itself, and I have no doubt that he will continue to make great films in the years to come.

I believe that Snyder's unique style and approach to filmmaking set him apart from other directors. His films are often visually stunning and thought-provoking, and he has a knack for creating memorable characters and stories. While Rebel Moon Part One may not have been his best work, I still found it to be an enjoyable and entertaining film. I am excited to see what Snyder does next, and I have no doubt that he will continue to push the boundaries of filmmaking.
