Xochitl Gomez, the 17-year-old Marvel actress, is facing another challenge as she enters the next round of the Dancing With the Stars competition. Just one week after her injury during Monster Night, she took to TikTok on Monday, November 6, to announce that she had sprained her ankle while rehearsing for Music Video Night. Sharing a clip of herself practicing in the DWTS ballroom, she captioned it with "This shiiii is BANANAS!" Unfortunately, she landed on her ankle in a bent position while performing a cartwheel.
"I'm all good though! Just a slight sprain but we're keeping it going!" she added in her caption. The video concluded with a shot of her partner, Val Chmerkovskiy, supporting her by holding her hands as she endured the pain on the ground.
Gomez provided an update on her condition in the comments section of the video. "Just had an x-ray done. No fractures or chips, just a minor sprain," she wrote. She later clarified that she is "fine" and will be participating in the Tuesday, November 7, episode of the series.
Gomez and Chmerkovskiy, aged 37, are set to perform two dances on Tuesday's Music Video Night. In her TikTok clip, Gomez wore a platinum blonde wig, which seems to be a reference to her upcoming jazz routine to Gwen Stefani's "Hollaback Girl." They will also join forces with Harry Jowsey and Rylee Arnold, Lele Pons and Brandon Armstrong, and Charity Lawson and Artem Chigvintsev to perform a team dance to "Gangnam Style" by Psy.
This team, known as Team Young'N Style, will compete against Alyson Hannigan and Sasha Farber, Jason Mraz and Daniella Karagach, Ariana Madix and Pasha Pashkov, and Barry Williams and Peta Murgatroyd's team dance to the Backstreet Boys' "Everybody (Backstreet's Back)."

Gomez's injury was evident last week after her contemporary routine to “Game of Survival” by Ruelle. Chmerkovskiy and host Alfonso Ribeiro assisted her in standing while the judges provided their feedback. Despite the pain, Gomez assured viewers that she was doing well.
Later that night, Gomez persevered through the pain to participate in the cast's "Dance Monster-thon" marathon dance. To their triumph, she and Chmerkovskiy emerged as the winners, earning an additional five points to supplement their initial score of 37 out of 40. They concluded the evening with a total of 42 points.
After the incident, the former Baby-Sitters Club member confided exclusively in us, expressing her slight panic over the minor injury. "I'm perfectly fine. I accidentally bumped my knee against the altar at the highest point. I couldn't discern whether it was a twist or some issue with my kneecap—I'm unsure," she disclosed.
Despite injuring her knee on a prop altar during their dance, Gomez assured Us that she and Chmerkovskiy enjoyed their contemporary routine. She mentioned that while it did affect her a bit, they were able to overcome it together. Gomez expressed that she had a great time carrying the contemporary portion of the dance, while recognizing that Chmerkovskiy excelled in the dance marathon.
Dancing With the Stars airs on ABC and Disney+ Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET.
