Valerie Bertinelli couldn't contain her excitement as she praised her son, Wolfgang Van Halen, following his marriage to Andraia Allsop. Sharing a video of her reception table adorned with adorable childhood pictures of the 32-year-old groom and his late father, Eddie Van Halen, Bertinelli described the evening as "magical."
Wolfgang and Allsop, both 32 years old, celebrated their wedding on Sunday, October 15th. They had been in a relationship for eight years before deciding to tie the knot. This joyous occasion took place almost three years after Wolfgang's father, Eddie, sadly lost his life to a prolonged struggle with throat cancer in October of 2020. Eddie was 65 years old at the time.
Wolfgang expressed his disbelief as he shared the news that his father, Edward Lodewijk Van Halen, had lost his difficult battle with cancer that morning, via a statement on X (formerly known as Twitter). He described his father as the best he could ever ask for, cherishing every moment they spent together on and off the stage. Wolfgang's heart is shattered, and he doubts if he will ever fully recover from this immense loss. He expressed his deep love for his father, addressing him as "Pop."
In response to the tragic news, Bertinelli, who was once married to Edward from 1981 to 2007, also honored her late ex-husband.
"Meeting you 40 years ago completely transformed my life," she wrote alongside a black-and-white photo of herself, Eddie, and Wolfgang. "You brought the most precious light into my life, our son, Wolfgang. Despite the difficult battles you faced during your fight against lung cancer, your beautiful spirit and mischievous smile never wavered. I am eternally grateful that Wolfie and I were able to be by your side in your final moments. Until we meet again in our next life, my love."
According to a source, Bertinelli has been experiencing profound grief since Eddie's passing in October 2020.
