Rachel McAdams revealed in an interview with Variety that she decided against appearing in the Walmart Black Friday commercial, despite the reunion of several "Mean Girls" costars.
"I have to admit, I wasn't really thrilled about doing a commercial," McAdams said. "I was more interested in doing a movie, and commercials just didn't appeal to me." However, McAdams made it clear that she was not opposed to reuniting with her former cast members, despite her reservations.
"Also, I didn't realize that everyone was doing it," McAdams said. "I would definitely love to be part of a Mean Girls reunion and spend time with my Plastics, but yeah, I only found that out later."
The advertisement recreated some of the most iconic scenes from Tina Fey's film, revisiting North Shore High School's winter talent show and other memorable moments from the movie.
Lohan has always wanted to be part of a "Mean Girls" sequel and expressed her happiness at reuniting with her former co-stars. "It was wonderful to be back together after all this time," she told People magazine last month. "It was fantastic to catch up with everyone."
The "Mean Girls" musical movie will introduce the world to a group of new actors portraying the roles. The film hits theaters in January.
