Princess Kate Middleton may consider taking legal action following a security breach at The London Clinic involving her private medical records.
According to attorney and legal expert Neama Rahmani, who is not connected to the case, Kate has the option to file a civil lawsuit for invasion of privacy. If she believes her privacy rights were violated, she has the right to pursue legal action against the perpetrator.
The London Clinic initiated a probe into its staff members who allegedly attempted to access Kate's private medical records after her abdominal surgery in January, as per a report by the Daily Mail on March 19. According to the report, the investigation was triggered when one employee tried to view the princess's file without authorization.
Rahmani mentioned that identifying the culprit should be straightforward due to the type of breach that occurred.

"It's easy to tell who is accessing a file or site at the moment," he mentioned. "The real concern is whether the person just attempted to access the data or actually managed to view it. If they were able to see it, that would be a major breach of privacy."
Rahmani pointed out that, if caught, the perpetrator could face anything from a criminal investigation and legal action to a professional reprimand.
The London Clinic CEO Al Russell addressed the security breach in a statement to NBC News on Wednesday, March 20. He mentioned that doctors, nurses, and other medical professionals are licensed and regulated by a governing body. As a result, there could be administrative penalties such as suspension or revocation of their license for such breaches.
“We take patient confidentiality very seriously at The London Clinic. We all understand our responsibilities when it comes to keeping patient information private and secure. We have procedures in place to ensure that patient data is managed carefully. If there is ever a breach, we will investigate and take the necessary actions to address it,” he mentioned.
On Tuesday, Kensington Palace also released a statement confirming that Kate, who is 42 years old, had been informed about the breach.
The palace informed the Daily Mail that the matter concerning Kate's health is being handled by the London Clinic.
Since her procedure in January and taking a break from public duties, Kate's health has been a popular topic of discussion. A source mentioned to Us on Sunday, March 17, that Kate may be ready to discuss her health condition once she returns to work after Easter.
The insider added that the princess is expected to speak out “when she’s doing a royal walkabout and meeting and greeting members of the public.”
