Jennie Garth's eldest daughter, Luca, had a tough time accepting the idea of her mom remarrying.
During an episode of Bethenny Frankel's "Just B" podcast on Thursday, May 30, Luca, who is now 26, shared, "They came to my school and said, 'Hey, we're getting married,' while I was having my sushi bowl. I was like, 'I do not approve.' But, you still went through with it. It was a really beautiful wedding, and I think you had a better understanding of everything than me at 17."
Garth, who is 52 years old, has two daughters named Luca and Lola, aged 21 and Fiona, aged 17, from her previous marriage with Peter Facinelli. After their divorce, Garth started a new relationship with Dave Abrams, who is 42 years old. They were introduced by friends on a blind date and surprisingly got engaged just three months after their first meeting.
Garth, known for her role in Beverly Hills, 90210, mentioned that her daughter Luca did not approve of Abrams because she was concerned about her mother's well-being and didn't want to see her get hurt.
Garth mentioned on Thursday that his daughter always wants to protect her mommy. He finds it amusing how his daughters are always fiercely protective of their mother. "I wouldn't want to be a guy trying to date or marry me with these girls around!" he joked.

While Luca was slow to come around to her mom’s wedding plans, she didn’t totally rule out watching Garth date post-divorce.
Luca jokingly recalled a rule from their past dating days, saying, "They can come but they have to bring us gifts to the house." He wanted suitors to be old-fashioned and bring a fruit plate or snack, like from the 19th century.
Garth had Abrams as a guest on her podcast "I Choose Me" recently. They discussed his experience of becoming an instant stepfather after their marriage, following a brief separation in 2017 that ended with reconciliation.
"It was like warp-speed," Abrams said. "One moment I was single, the next I became a stepdad. I even slept in the guest room when the kids were home."
Garth later shared with We that she and Abrams felt "super proud" of their open and honest podcast discussion.
Dave is a talkative guy who isn't afraid to speak his mind. In May, she shared exclusively with Us that he loves to talk and takes pride in our relationship. We've been together for around 8 or 9 years, although I can never seem to remember the exact number. Even though it hasn't been that long, we've been through a lot together. It's like we fast-tracked through all the challenges and now we're in a good place.
