Jennie Garth, 51, made it clear that she has no interest in discussing Dan Schneider. Garth starred alongside Amanda Bynes in the teen sitcom What I Like About You, which was co-created by Schneider, 58, and Will Calhoun. The show ran for four seasons from 2002 to 2006.

Garth had some not-so-nice things to say about her ex-boss, but she couldn't stop gushing about her former co-star, Amanda Bynes. Even though they haven't spoken since the premiere of Investigation Discovery’s docuseries Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV, Garth still has a lot of love for Bynes.

"I just adore her and I really hope to see her again soon," Garth expressed.

Quiet on Set, which aired on March 17 and 18, focused on the harmful work environment experienced by child actors at Nickelodeon. The documentary shed light on allegations of abuse directed towards Schneider, known for creating popular Nickelodeon shows such as Zoey 101, Drake & Josh, iCarly, Victorious, and Sam & Cat. Despite being a co-creator of What I Like About You, Schneider only actively participated in the series for two seasons before his involvement became merely symbolic.

The documentary featured interviews with numerous former Nickelodeon stars, including Giovonnie Samuels, Kyle Sullivan, and Bryan Hearne from All That, as well as Drake Bell from Drake & Josh.

Bynes has not publicly addressed the docuseries, but her connection with Schneider was a key focus. Schneider first spotted Bynes at the Los Angeles Laugh Factory when she was a child. This led to her role on All That and later her own show, The Amanda Show, where Schneider served as head writer and executive producer.

According to director Virgil L. Fabian in the docuseries, "Dan saw her and immediately knew she would be a star." While Schneider and Bynes collaborated on What I Like About You, they eventually went their separate ways as Bynes pursued more mature roles.

Schneider recently gave his first interview since Quiet On Set premiered, addressing the abuse allegations against him. He shared with iCarly alum BooG!e on March 19 that watching the show was tough, as he had to confront his past actions, some of which he regrets and finds embarrassing. He acknowledged that he owes some people a sincere apology.

Bynes has experienced many highs and lows in her career since stepping out of the spotlight. In 2013, she was placed under a conservatorship, which finally ended in 2022. The documentary also revealed that in 2013, Bynes tried to become emancipated from her parents and sought help from her team, including Schneider, to achieve this.

"We were there for her," Schneider mentioned about the situation. She attempted to become emancipated, but unfortunately, it didn't work out as she hoped.

In 2018, Schneider and Nickelodeon went their separate ways after allegations of inappropriate behavior surfaced, which he denied. Prior to the premiere of Quiet on the Set, Schneider's team provided a statement to We.

Dan always prioritized the well-being of the children on his shows, even when their own families were not able to do so. He empathized with their struggles and always stood up for them. Many of these kids are forced to take on the responsibility of providing for their families at a young age, which brings immense pressure.

Growing up in the spotlight and juggling a demanding job as a child can be incredibly challenging. That's why there are strict standards in place on set, with executives, lawyers, teachers, and parents constantly monitoring. Despite all the oversight, being a kid in that environment is tough, and Dan understood this better than anyone else.
