The Los Angeles District Attorney has responded to a recently resurfaced video showing Sean "Diddy" Combs allegedly assaulting his then-girlfriend Cassie. The D.A.'s office expressed their concern about the disturbing nature of the video, stating that it was hard to watch. Unfortunately, due to the incident occurring in 2016, they are unable to press charges as it falls outside the statute of limitations for assault cases.

The attorneys have not been given a case related to the attack shown in the video against Mr. Combs.

The D.A.'s office encourages anyone who has been a victim or witness to a crime to report it to law enforcement or contact their office for support from the Bureau of Victims Services.

CNN recently shared a video from 2016 showing Diddy and Cassie. The footage captured Diddy seemingly assaulting Cassie at a hotel. It appeared that he grabbed her by the neck and proceeded to shove, drag, and kick her.

"Cassie's attorney, Douglas H. Wigdor, stated on Friday that the video was gut-wrenching and confirmed Mr. Combs' disturbing behavior. He also praised Cassie's courage for coming forward to expose this predatory behavior."

Diddy has not commented on the video publicly. Us has asked for a statement from him.

The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed they were aware of the video in a statement to CNN on Saturday, May 18th.

Diddy and Cassie dated on and off from 2007 to 2018. Recently, in November 2023, Cassie filed a lawsuit against Diddy, accusing him of sexual assault and physical abuse that occurred over a period of 10 years. The case was settled the following day, with Diddy maintaining his denial of all allegations.

After Cassie's legal action, other individuals came forward with similar accusations against Diddy. He has denied each claim and even filed to dismiss one anonymous complaint just this month.

Homeland Security raided two of Diddy's homes in L.A. and Miami in March as part of a federal sex trafficking investigation. Despite this, Diddy has not faced any charges or arrests related to the case.

Diddy's attorney, Aaron Dyer, expressed concern over the use of excessive force during the search warrants executed at Mr. Combs' residences. He stated that the authorities showed unnecessary aggression towards Diddy, his children, and employees, which was uncalled for.
