Where Are They Now? Catching up with Former 'Selling Sunset' Stars like Christine Quinn and Heather Rae El Moussa

Former stars of 'Selling Sunset', including Christine Quinn, Heather Rae El Moussa, Maya Vander, and Vanessa Villela, have left the show Discover where they are now in their respective careers (315 characters)

Over the years, a number of Selling Sunset stars have chosen to distance themselves from the popular Netflix show. Originally featuring Chrishell Stause, Mary Fitzgerald, Jason Oppenheim, Brett Oppenheim, Heather Rae El Moussa, Maya Vander, and Christine Quinn as employees of the prestigious Oppenheim Group, the series quickly gained widespread acclaim following its premiere in 2019.

Christine became known for her portrayal of a villain during her time on the show. However, her relationships with fellow agents, such as Heather and Mary, were negatively affected due to her habit of causing conflict. The major source of drama for Christine was her dislike for Chrishell, which persisted until Christine left the show in season 5. Reflecting on her departure, Christine expressed to The New York Times in July 2022 that she believed she was the only one who truly grasped the nature of the show and was determined to provide the audience with an entertaining spectacle.

One year later, Heather revealed her "bittersweet" exit from Selling Sunset after seven successful seasons. Sharing her thoughts in a November 2023 Instagram post, she reflected, "Everything unfolds as it should, and we all have a destined path. It's a mix of emotions to no longer be a part of SS, but I treasure the invaluable experiences, whether positive or negative."

Heather left the show during season 7 after making few appearances, as she gave birth to her first child. She later stated that she was not given the opportunity to film more scenes after her son, Tristan, was born. Check out below to see what the former Selling Sunset stars are currently up to.

Christine Quinn, Heather Rae El Moussa and More ‘Selling Sunset' Stars Who Left: Where Are They Now?

Several Selling Sunset stars have stepped away from the Netflix hit over the years.

The Oppenheim Group, a prestigious Los Angeles real estate brokerage, was thrust into the spotlight with the debut of its hit series in 2019. The show initially featured a cast of notable individuals including Chrishell Stause, Mary Fitzgerald, Jason Oppenheim, Brett Oppenheim, Heather Rae El Moussa, Maya Vander, and Christine Quinn as employees of the firm. Among them, Christine gained notoriety for her portrayal as the ultimate villain, leading to strained relationships with her fellow agents such as Heather and Mary. However, the real drama unfolded when Christine's animosity towards Chrishell persisted until her departure in season 5.

"I felt like I was the sole individual who truly grasped the requirements of the assignment," Christine conveyed to The New York Times in July 2022 as she exited. "I was the solitary voice proclaiming, 'Listen up, this is a spectacle, and I intend to provide the world with a captivating performance.'"

A year following, Heather disclosed her departure from Selling Sunset, describing it as a "bittersweet" farewell after seven successful seasons.

"Everything unfolds according to destiny... and we each have a path," she expressed through an Instagram post in November 2023. "It's a mix of emotions to no longer be involved in SS. However, I firmly believe that no matter the ups and downs, I wouldn't alter the invaluable experiences I had."

Heather's departure occurred following her reduced presence in season 7 due to the birth of her first child. Subsequently, she asserted that she was not invited to participate in additional scenes after the arrival of her and husband Tarek El Moussa's son, Tristan.

Maya, who had been frequently traveling between Los Angeles and Florida, made the decision to stay on the East Coast with her family. Transitioning from being an employee at the Oppenheim Group, she took the leap and established her own real estate firm called Compass: The Maya Vander Group.

In addition to her career accomplishments, Maya and her husband Dave Miller have expanded their family after experiencing the heartbreak of pregnancy loss. They joyfully welcomed their son Aiden in 2019 and their daughter Elle the following year. Sadly, in 2021, Maya shared the heartbreaking news of her stillborn son Mason.

Six months later, Maya revealed that she had suffered another pregnancy loss in June 2022. She gave birth to a rainbow baby, daughter Emma, in May 2023.

Christine Quinn

The original cast member concluded her five-season tenure following accusations from Emma Hernan about Christine bribing her client, a situation that unfolded on the show. Christine refuted the allegations and ultimately decided not to rejoin Oppenheim Group.

Instead, she embarked on the RealOpen venture, a fresh real estate brokerage cofounded by her husband, Christian Richard. The company later introduced RealScore, a novel credit scoring system tailored for buyers and sellers in the cryptocurrency realm.

Christine also broke into the fashion industry by modeling in various shows — and she has taken fans along on the journey via her social media.

Heather Rae El Moussa

In a surprising twist, Heather, who had been a part of the show since its inception, officially announced her departure in October 2023. This news left fans astounded, especially considering her absence for the majority of season 7, which she vehemently insisted was involuntary.

Heather will continue to appear on TV alongside husband Tarek in shows such as HGTV’s The Flipping El Moussas.
