At 9pm in New Zealand, viewers are in for a thrilling ride with the new film directed by F. Gary Gray. The movie follows a group of skilled criminals, led by Cyrus Whitaker (played by Kevin Hart), as they are tasked with pulling off their most daring heist yet – stealing $500 million in gold from a passenger plane while it is 40,000 feet in the air.
Discussing the heist genre, Gray, known for directing the 2003 Italian Job remake, expressed his passion for the genre. "I love this genre because it allows me to unleash my creativity with the latest technology, draw inspiration from diverse global cultures, and continually learn new things," he said. As a Gen Z fan, I am thrilled about the upcoming release of Lift on Netflix. Kevin Hart is one of my favorite comedians, and I can't wait to see him in a more serious role. The heist genre is also one of my favorites, so I'm excited to see how Gray puts his own spin on it. I think Lift has the potential to be a really great movie, and I can't wait to watch it when it comes out.
I also appreciate that Netflix is releasing Lift so early in the year. January is usually a slow month for movies, so it's great that we'll have something to look forward to. I think Lift will be a great way to kick off the new year, and I can't wait to see what else Netflix has in store for us in 2024.
