Walker Hayes' Heartwarming Tribute to Daughter Loxley's Unforgettable Night with Taylor Swift

Walker Hayes proudly proclaims his love for Taylor Swift on his New Money EP. The EP concludes with a closing track called "Taylor Swift," where Hayes shares his personal journey of attempting to obtain tickets for the acclaimed singer's Eras Tour.

I spent more on two Taylor Swift concert ticket stubs than my mortgage. And that was just the beginning - T-shirts, cokes, and popcorn added to the cost. But hey, how often does your little girl turn 9? Hayes, 43, sings in the first verse. "Dave Ramsey wouldn't approve, but the joy of watching her idol and seeing her sing every word to every song was priceless."

He continues, "Up in the nosebleeds, we were beaming, feeling like we had VIP passes. She was so captivated, until her bedtime arrived at midnight and she yawned. Then, she climbed into my arms and fell asleep."

Walker, the country singer, took his daughter Loxley "Lolly" to see Swift's show during the summer. The show spanned Swift's decades in the spotlight. Along with expressing admiration for Lolly's happiness at attending the Eras Tour, Walker also shared a heartwarming glimpse into their father-daughter bond.

"Who am I to have the privilege of cradling an actual princess as she peacefully dreams away with her extravagant birthday present?" he croons in the refrain. "I simply pray that as she blossoms, she never forgets that her mother, Jesus, and I adore her with a love surpassing even her adoration for Taylor Swift."

Walker further reveals, "As the day arrives when she hits 22 and I reach 56, I yearn for her to remember me whenever she listens to Taylor Swift."

Walker gave fans a sneak peek of his song "Taylor Swift" in June, when he performed an acoustic version with his friend Lolly in their kitchen. He shared the video on Instagram, labeling it as Lolly's new favorite song.

To generate excitement for the official release of "Taylor Swift" on September 29, Walker posted a video on his Instagram Story featuring Taylor Swift cheering for her rumored boyfriend, Travis Kelce's, Kansas City Chiefs. He also included a button that directed fans to listen to "Taylor Swift" on Spotify, YouTube, and Apple Music.

Walker and Laney, who first met during a school production of Little Shop of Horrors, became high school sweethearts and got married in 2004. Since then, they have been blessed with six children: Lela, Chapel, Baylor, Beckett, Loxley, and Everly. Unfortunately, their seventh child, a daughter named Oakleigh, was stillborn in June 2018.

In a 2020 interview with Fatherly, Walker emphasized the importance of a loving father figure in a child's life. He shared that he understands this significance firsthand as a son and wants his children to know that he is always there for them.
