Vanessa Marcil is honoring ex-fiancé — and former costar — Tyler Christopher after his death.

Marcil, aged 55, took to social media on November 2nd to share a collection of images featuring herself and Christopher throughout the years. The actress utilized her Instagram Story to post various magazine articles, red carpet photos, and personal pictures. Among these posts was one with the caption, "Tyler Christopher Baker: 1972 - 2023."

Additionally, Marcil re-shared a Threads post from Amber Tamblyn, where she expressed her admiration for Christopher as an actor and honored him. Tamblyn, now 40, had portrayed the character Emily Quartermaine on the ABC series from 1998 to 2000.

After meeting on the set of General Hospital, where they played Brenda Barrett and Nikolas Cassadine, Marcil and Christopher started dating in the late 1990s. They got engaged briefly before ending their relationship in 1999. Marcil left the show in 1998, while Christopher continued in his role until 2016, earning four Daytime Emmy nominations during his tenure.

Marcil's previous marriage was to Corey Feldman from 1989 to 1993, before she started a relationship with Brian Austin Green, her Beverly Hills, 90210 co-star. They were together for four years and had a son named Kassius Lijah Marcil-Green in 2002. Following their split in 2003, Marcil married Carmine Giovinazzo in 2010, but they separated three years later.

Christopher, on the other hand, married Eva Longoria in 2002. Their marriage lasted for two years before ending in a separation in 2004. In 2008, he remarried Brienne Pedigo, with whom he had two children: Greysun, who is now 14, and Boheme, who is 8. Unfortunately, their marriage ended in divorce in 2021.

Tragically, Christopher passed away at the age of 50 on Tuesday, October 31. His costar from General Hospital, Maurice Benard, shared the heartbreaking news that Christopher died in his San Diego apartment after experiencing a "cardiac event."

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Tyler Christopher," Bernard, 60, expressed in an Instagram statement. "[He] always found joy in delighting his devoted fans through his acting. Tyler possessed a kind-hearted nature and was a cherished friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing him."

Bernard acknowledged Christopher's commitment to promoting "improved mental health" and "substance abuse treatment," revealing that he openly discussed his personal battle with bipolar depression and alcoholism. Concluding the statement, Bernard expressed, "The loss of our beloved friend has left us utterly devastated, and we offer our heartfelt prayers for his children and father."

EP Frank Valentini of General Hospital expressed his condolences to Entertainment Tonight on Tuesday, stating, "I am devastated by the news of Tyler Christopher's passing. He was not only a talented actor but also a dear friend who was adored by our GH family and fans of Nikolas Cassadine. Our thoughts and sympathies go out to his loved ones during this difficult time." Alongside his tenure on GH, Christopher had a notable role as Stefan DiMera on Days of Our Lives from 2001 to 2019, garnering another Daytime Emmy nomination for his portrayal. Additionally, Christopher's body of work includes his portrayal of Dan Whitehorse on The Lying Game and appearances in Moon Crash, Thor: God of Thunder, and the upcoming film Ice Storm in 2023.
