Vanessa Bryant paid homage to her late husband Kobe Bryant with a jacket specially made for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour.
Leading up to Swift's inaugural show at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on Thursday, August 3rd, Vanessa, aged 41, proudly displayed the denim jacket she intended to wear during one of the performances. (Swift, aged 33, is set to take center stage at the stadium for six consecutive nights.)
Embellishing the back of the jacket were sparkly letters spelling out "Swiftie," while beneath lay a picture of Swift and Bryant from their joint appearance at one of her 2015 shows at the Staples Center. Surrounding the photograph, a vibrant display of bedazzled crystals formed a captivating and colorful frame.
In 2015, Kobe joined Swift on stage during her 1989 Tour to present her with a championship banner. The banner commemorated her record 16 sold-out performances at the Staples Center, where the Lakers play their home games. Kobe shared a photo on Instagram, writing, "Friends hang from time to time but banners hang forever @taylorswift." The banner now hangs in the Staples Center rafters alongside the Lakers' numerous championship banners and retired jerseys.

The front of the jacket utilized identical crystals to encase a heart-shaped region, which showcased an embroidered excerpt from Swift's song "Wildest Dreams." The inscribed phrase on the jacket read, "Say you'll remember me."
Kobe passed away in January 2020 at the age of 41, along with his and Vanessa's 13-year-old daughter, Gianna, and seven other passengers. They tragically died in a helicopter crash on a hillside just outside of L.A. Kobe and Vanessa have three other daughters: Natalia, who is 20, Bianka, who is 6, and Capri, who is 4. When Swift heard about Kobe's untimely demise, she shared a heartfelt tribute to the legendary athlete and expressed her condolences to his wife and family.
Upon hearing the devastating news of this unfathomable tragedy, my heart shattered into pieces. The pain and sorrow that the affected families must be enduring is beyond comprehension. Kobe held such a profound significance not only for me, but for all of us," she expressed on Twitter. "My thoughts and prayers, along with my boundless condolences and love, are with Vanessa, her family, and anyone who lost a loved one in that tragic incident."
Swift has continued to maintain a strong bond with Vanessa and her children. In July 2020, she generously presented Natalia with a replica of the cardigan she wore in a music video from her album, Folklore.
“Thank you SO much @taylorswift,” Natalia wrote via her Instagram Story at the time. “I am OBSESSED with folklore!!!”
