Streamer Felix "xQc" Lengyel's unexpected decision to sign with Kick has sparked curiosity about his potential earnings. In light of Twitch's recent backlash over its revised policies, which include a contentious 70-30 revenue split and additional requirements that have left creators dissatisfied, a streaming expert has made an estimation.
Reports suggest that xQc has entered into a lucrative $70 million agreement with Kick. Notably, the streaming platform offers attractive incentives that could potentially push his earnings beyond the $100 million mark. While Kick will serve as his primary platform, xQc will still maintain the freedom to create content on popular platforms such as Twitch, YouTube, and TikTok, thereby diversifying his revenue streams.
According to streaming expert Devin Nash, it is possible that xQc is earning $10,000 per hour. In a YouTube video analyzing xQc's contract with Kick, Nash speculated that in addition to his $70 million salary and $30 million worth of incentives, xQc may have an hourly deal. Nash based this estimation on xQc's typical streaming duration on Twitch, which often exceeds 10 hours, as well as his monthly subscriber earnings. Although Nash's calculation was purely speculative, it may not be too far-fetched given the immense number of viewers who tuned in to xQc's initial Kick stream. Nash also reassured his audience that he has negotiated numerous similar deals during his time at a talent agency.
Many individuals on social media believe that xQc's signing with Kick has the potential to significantly impact his life due to the reportedly high incentives offered to streamers. This has sparked interest from other streamers, including prominent female Twitch streamer Amouranth, who recently made a surprising move to join Kick. As a result, it is anticipated that other streamers may follow suit and sign with either Kick or YouTube in the coming months as a form of protest against Twitch's latest policies and alleged mistreatment of its content creators.
However, there is still a considerable number of people who remain hesitant to support Kick primarily due to its association with controversial streamers Adin Ross and Trainwrecks. The platform has faced criticism for its allowance of gambling and the lack of censorship regarding sexual content, which may be inappropriate for younger viewers. Nevertheless, some acknowledge the potential of Kick to become a healthy competitor to Twitch and YouTube in the future, particularly once it addresses and resolves its current issues.
