Tree Paine has established herself as Taylor Swift's trusted publicist, supporting the Grammy winner both publicly and behind the scenes. She frequently accompanies Swift to awards shows and red carpet events.
At the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards, Swift and Paine had a funny moment when Swift was caught on a livestream mouthing "Hey, Tree" to Paine during the ceremony. Later, at the October 2023 premiere of The Eras Tour concert movie, Swift gave Paine a shout-out on the red carpet by deferring to her for direction when photographers asked for a solo picture. She playfully said, "I do what I’m told, if you don’t mind. OK? You see that redhead? She’ll tell me what to do."

Paine has been a consistent supporter of Swift throughout her career. Notably, she publicly called out Kim Kardashian in March 2020 after the reality star accused Swift of lying about giving Kanye West permission to use her name in a lyric for his track “Famous.” This accusation came after Kardashian posted a video in 2016 showing Swift seemingly approving West's use of her name in the track. Kardashian later attempted to clarify her actions, stating that her only issue was with Swift lying about the situation through her publicist. This clarification came after the full phone call between Swift and West leaked, confirming that they did speak about the song.

Paine responded by sharing her "UNEDITED original statement" through X, where she explained that Kanye had asked Taylor to release his single 'Famous' on her Twitter account, but she declined due to the song's misogynistic message. Taylor was not informed about the specific lyric, "I made that bitch famous."
In the same year, Paine briefly appeared in Swift's Netflix documentary, Miss Americana. She expressed nervousness before Swift endorsed two Democratic candidates for the 2018 midterm election on Instagram, breaking her political silence.
