Developer Ironmace is seeking assistance from the Dark and Darker gaming community to address the widespread cheating issue in their PVP dungeon crawler. Despite implementing improvements to its anti-hack system in a recent update, the first-person RPG continues to be plagued by cheaters.

Dark and Darker gained popularity among gamers due to its gritty aesthetic and PVP gameplay, attracting attention when Ironmace released a demo earlier this year. However, the game faced a legal dispute when South Korean gaming giant Nexon accused Ironmace of using assets from their in-development game, P3. As a result, Dark and Darker was taken down from Steam, but Ironmace aims to reintroduce it on Valve's digital storefront in the future.

While Dark and Darker is currently available in early access, players who are willing to go through the necessary steps to obtain the game have encountered a significant number of online cheaters. In an effort to address this issue and improve the overall gaming experience, Ironmace has reached out to the community for assistance. As initially reported by PCGamesN, Ironmace has made a request on the Dark and Darker Discord for players to provide video evidence of suspected cheaters along with their usernames. To streamline the reporting process, Ironmace has established a dedicated Discord account where players can easily submit videos showcasing potential hackers.

If gamers have videos of someone cheating in Dark and Darker, they should message the Ironshield Support account on the game's Discord server and include the hacker's in-game name. It is advised that players message this account instead of contacting other Ironmace staff for the next 30 days. They should only message Ironshield Support if they have a video of a suspected hacker to submit. While it is too early to determine the success of this effort to combat Dark and Darker hackers, Ironmace appears to be making an effort to address the issue. Although the game has made progress since Ironmace requested fans to torrent Dark and Darker when it was removed from Steam, it is evident that the fantasy RPG still faces obstacles. However, if this crackdown on cheating proves successful, it should contribute to a smoother path towards the game's final release.
