Ironmace recently released two updates for Dark and Darker, which include balance adjustments, bug fixes, and new content such as artifacts and mining items. Although Dark and Darker was removed from Steam due to copyright issues, Ironmace has not let that hinder their progress in improving the game. Since its initial release in early access, Dark and Darker has consistently received updates, including hotfixes and balance changes, to enhance the overall gameplay.

Following allegations from Nexon accusing Dark and Darker of using stolen assets, Ironmace received a cease and desist and the game was subsequently delisted from Steam. As of now, Dark and Darker cannot be downloaded from Steam. However, players can still purchase the dungeon crawler game from its official website or through a subscription-based storefront called Chaf Games. It is unlikely that Dark and Darker will make a return to Steam in the near future.

Dark and Darker has undergone two updates, featuring essential balance adjustments, bug fixes, and a plethora of captivating new content. The updates introduce an array of exciting attributes, engaging perks, and awe-inspiring spells. The most recent update has made changes to the appearance of the Barbarian and Fighter characters, as well as introduced new designs for the Goblin Caves map pool. Additionally, the update has provided buffs to the Rogue class in the Dark and Darker game, reducing the cooldowns for Hide, PenetratingShot, and Cutthroat abilities. On September 28th, a hotfix update was implemented which focused on a few balance adjustments to enhance the overall gameplay experience.

Dark and Darker Early Access Hotfix #14 Patch Notes

Damage for all daggers has been slightly increased.

Lantern/Torch additional movement speed has been adjusted to 0.

Lanterns can now appear with random modifiers at the higher rarities.

Jack-O-Lantern has returned.

Regular merchants no longer sell Epic items.

The properties of the random modifier on colored rarity items have been reverted to provide a significantly wider range of values and greater variety, including the reinstatement of the +all attributes feature from the previous patch. As a result, assessing the rolls for your items is now equally, if not more, important than solely considering the item's color grade.

From now on, sub-bosses and Special Chests such as the Lion's Head, Golden Chests, Marvelous, and Royal Coffins will consistently yield loot of colored grade.

Soulreaper name changed to Soulscraper.

Rogue's Trap Detection range has been increased from 400 → 450.

Rogue's Jokester range has been increased from 350 → 450.

Rogue's Ambush physical damage bonus changed from 30% → 50%.

Rogue's Weak Point attack armor rating reduction has been changed from 25% → 30%, and the duration has been changed from 3s → 4s.

Ranger's Chase range has been increased from 400 → 450.

Bard's Warsong range has been increased from 350 → 450.

Bard's Story Teller range has been increased from 350 → 450.

Fixed a rollback issue where players would revert to a previous state when exiting a dungeon.

Fixed Occultist Boots movement speed.

- Resolved an issue where Curse Mastery prevented Curse of Pain from inflicting instant damage.

- Resolved an issue where Curse Mastery hindered the damage dealing capabilities of Power of Sacrifice.

Dark and Darker Early Access Patch 1

Chests now also rolls for extra trinkets

Warlock Curse of Pain, Curse of Weakness, and Power of Sacrifice now cost 5 HP.

Warlock Torture Mastery now no longer heals from all magical damage when Curse of Pain is active on the target.

Warlock and Bard are now limited by Spell Memory.

Water sounds now play when you step on water.

Barbarian and Fighter's face shapes have been modified.

Added new attributes: Manual Dexterity, Persuasion.

Rarity-specific skins have been added for the Drum and Lyre.

Cloak's cloth simulation has been slightly optimized.

The value range of most random modifiers have been rebalanced.

Torches and Lanterns give a slight movement speed advantage rather than a penalty.

4 new artifacts have been added: Echo of Screams, Soulreaper, Deathbloom, Stinky Stick.

Lockpick drop rate has been increased.

Greater Luck Potion has been added to the Fortune Teller.

New craft and mining items added.

Additional attack patterns added to the Nightmare version of the monsters in the Goblin Cave.

Skeleton Champion animations have been updated.

Royal Guard animation has been updated.

Rogue will no longer break stealth when bumped if the Pickpocket perk is equipped.

Ranger's Quickshot now fires a different amount of arrows based on the Bow type.

Resolved a problem whereby the lantern would occasionally fail to illuminate.

Addressed an issue regarding the unnecessary playing of hit sounds upon the death of goblins.

Rectified a problem whereby Dark Swarm's subsequent zone could erroneously be identified as the outskirts of the map.

The issue of Stealth not being broken even if damage was taken after drinking a potion and using it outside of Dark Swarm has been resolved.

The rarity filter of the Trading Post has been fixed to sort items by rarity instead of by name.

Fixed an issue in Trading Post where text that was too long would disappear instead of being printed to the next line.

Fixed an incorrectly installed portal.

Fixed an issue where Warlocks could not be granted Karma.

Fixed background objects with incorrect collision.

Fixed several issues that were causing crashes.

Dark and Darker is out now in early access on PC.
