The upcoming Pokemon TCG set exclusively showcases the original 151 Kanto Pokemon from Generation 1. This expansion introduces the beloved Pokemon Red and Blue classics into the current Pokemon TCG Scarlet and Violet meta. The creators behind Pokemon TCG have been heavily emphasizing cards from the first generation lately. Just recently, players received news about the Pokemon Trading Card Game Classic, which will offer reprints of cards from the iconic base set. Although this set has yet to be released, with a scheduled launch in late 2023, another set is already on its way, spotlighting all the Pokemon from the first generation.
In addition to the highly anticipated Kadabra card, the upcoming set will feature 10 new EX cards, including special ones for Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise. Among these, the Mew EX card is expected to be the most sought-after, as promotional material describes it as "elusive." The Pokemon TCG community has been facing challenges with scarcity recently, as stores in Japan consistently sell out of cards, prompting measures such as restricting adult purchases to ensure younger enthusiasts can partake in the hobby.
The Pokemon TCG: Scarlet and Violet - 151 set will be available both in stores and on the app on September 22nd.
