Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1 is set to release on October 24, as confirmed by Konami today. Along with this announcement, details about the bonus features of the upcoming bundle were also revealed. This information was shared during the June 21 Nintendo Direct event, which featured numerous announcements, including the surprise release of two classic GameCube games for the Switch. Initially unveiled at the PlayStation Showcase, the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1 was originally stated to be available only for PC and current-gen consoles from Sony and Microsoft. However, its inclusion in today's Nintendo Direct confirmed that it will also be released for the Switch in late October.
Additionally, the June 21 broadcast showcased a brief trailer that offered a comprehensive glimpse into the numerous bonus features of the bundle. Among the noteworthy additions from the extensive list of extra content is a NES adaptation of Metal Gear, which should not be mistaken for the considerably distinct MSX original that is also included in the collection. Furthermore, Snake's Revenge is included as well. These titles were developed without the involvement of Hideo Kojima and are therefore presented as supplementary material rather than being part of the five mainline games featured in Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1. It is worth noting that the 1987 NES adaptation turned out to be remarkably different, prompting Kojima to publicly disapprove of it in 2001 for not meeting his standards. Thus, experiencing it offers an intriguing glimpse into the history of the franchise.

The upcoming collection will also feature the inclusion of Metal Gear Solid's Digital Graphic Novel and its sequel, a set of interactive comic books that were originally launched for the PSP in 2006. Moreover, each of the five mainline titles that are included in the collection will be accompanied by a digital screenplay book. This book will encompass all in-game dialogue, character briefing files, and Codec call scripts. Additionally, the package will include five digital master books that provide strategy guide content, key character quotes, and other valuable information about Kojima's initial five Metal Gear games.
Finally, the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1 will come with a condensed digital soundtrack featuring 20 iconic tracks from the beloved series. Among the tracks included are fan-favorites like Theme of Solid Snake and Snake Eater, both performed by Cynthia Harrell.
The release of the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1 on October 24 will be followed by MGS Delta: Snake Eater, a remake of MGS3. Although the release date for MGS Delta: Snake Eater is yet to be announced, it is speculated that it may be available in the market as early as 2024. Furthermore, Konami has expressed its willingness to remake additional Metal Gear games in the future. The Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1 will be available on PC, PS5, Switch, and Xbox Series X/S.
