During the Inazuma arc of Genshin Impact, the Riftwolves emerged as a new enemy. Upon defeating them, players can obtain different types of claws that are essential for upgrading specific weapons.
As the players progress to higher levels, the Wolves of the Rift have a chance to drop increasingly valuable items.
Any level Riftwolf can drop Concealed Claw
Riftwolves level 40 and up can drop Concealed Unguis
Content: Riftwolves at level 60 and above can yield Concealed Talon as a drop. Their drops remain consistent regardless of their element or class. Presently, the primary group of Riftwolf adversaries consists of four types: Rockfond Rifthounds, Rockfond Rifthound Whelps, Thundercraven Rifthounds, and Thundercraven Rifthound Whelps. It should be noted that the Golden Wolflord boss is distinct from these enemies and does not possess the same item drops.
Riftwolf Locations - Inazuma
The majority of Riftwolves in the game can be found on Tsurumi Island in Inazuma. However, accessing most parts of this island is only possible after completing the World Quest Series named "Through the Mists." This quest involves clearing the fog and unlocking the entire island for exploration.
Tsurumi Island North - Shirikoro Peak
On the left: Two Thundercraven Whelps can be found on the sandy west side of the teleport waypoint at the summit of Shirikoro Peak.
On the right: To reach this location, it is necessary to lower the water level in the vicinity. Achieving this requires returning three Seelies to their respective courts situated within the mountain.
Descend into the central area of the mountain once the water level recedes. Proceed north through a cobweb-filled passageway located in the lowest section. Here you will encounter two additional Thundercraven Whelps.
Tsurumi Island West - Autake Plains
All three wolves on the western side can be easily spotted by the beach. Starting from the top, there are two Thundercraven Whelps followed by a Rockfond Rifthound, and another Rockfond Rifthound at the bottom.
Not far from the teleport waypoint, you will come across one Thundercraven Rifthound and one Thundercraven Whelp near the path that leads through Autake Plains. Be cautious of the abundance of Hilichurls in this area, as they may shoot arrows at you.
Tsurumi Island Central
Just west of the teleport waypoint, there are two Thundercraven Whelps.
Tsurumi Island South
In the bit of peninsula where the Golden Wolflord is found, there are a few Riftwolves roaming the area.
Content:
On the beach, there is a solitary Rockfond Rifthound accompanied by a Rockfond Whelp. Towards the southeast, positioned on the grass and slightly to the left of a small, flat hill, there is a Thundercraven Rifthound alongside a Thundercraven Whelp.
Southeast, right: One Rockfond Rifthound and one Rockfond Whelp can be found east of the same flat hill.
Riftwolf Locations - Mondstadt
In Wolvendom, northwest of the Wolf of the North challenge, you can find three Rockfond Whelps. However, they will only appear once you have completed Razor's first Story Quest chapter, Lupus Minor.
Riftwolf Locations - Sumeru
Several Riftwolves can be found scattered throughout Sumeru. In addition to the listed images and locations below, there is a significant number of them trapped in Gray Crystals within the northernmost region of the desert, specifically in Tunigi Hollow. To release these wolves, the utilization of Khvarena power is imperative. Once successfully defeated, they do not respawn.
Sumeru - Vissudha Field
Head north from the teleport waypoint on the right side of the image until you reach an Eremite camp. Look for a concealed cavern behind one of the tents, leading downwards into the earth. At the end of this cavern, you will encounter a Thundercraven Rifthound and a Thundercraven Whelp. Keep in mind that these wolves can only be found in the Withering Zone and will no longer appear once the area has been cleared.
Sumeru - King Deshret's Mausoleum
Content: There are a few Riftwolves that inhabit the underground region near King Deshret's Mausoleum in the desert. These particular young wolves, known as Whelps, can be found on the lowest floor of Duat Hall. To reach Duat Hall, players must first complete the Golden Slumber quest and initiate the Old Notes and New Friends World Quest. Additionally, they will need to attain the Ferryman's Clearance level for entry. In the provided image, the two wolves in the bottom-left corner are Thundercraven Whelps, while the three wolves in the top-right corner are also Thundercraven Whelps.
