Persona 5 Tactica Will Include Two New Characters, Revolutionary Story
suggests a continuation of Persona 5's rebellion theme, encouraging individuals to ignite a flame within their hearts as the revolutionary drama unfolds. The initial scenes of Tactica showcase Joker and the crew residing in LeBlanc, when an unexpected tremor shakes their surroundings, turning the exit of the café into a portal to an alternate realm. It is within this realm that the Phantom Thieves find themselves in a city governed by a militaristic regime, facing relentless attacks and being encircled by a group of armed adversaries, until they are rescued by the enigmatic figure known as Erina. In exchange for helping them find a way back to their home in Tokyo, the Phantom Thieves join forces with Erina, who leads a resistance group known as the "Revolutionary Army." This sets the stage for the spin-off's storyline, which explores the struggles between the common people and the controlling forces in this new realm. Interestingly, game screenshots reveal that Erina interacts with the crew at LeBlanc, their secret hideout in this unfamiliar setting.
In terms of gameplay, Persona 5 Tactica will include the core Phantom Thieves crew, along with two new characters, Erina and Toshiro. Toshiro, as shown in his character trailer, appears to come from Joker's world and is referred to by Morgana as "the politician from the news" who holds a negative view of the team's recklessness. Toshiro was briefly seen in Persona 5 Tactica's initial character spotlights, where his role was to be protected due to his low HP and lack of SP. However, his official trailer suggests that he may have a more significant role as a capable ally in combat in the future.
In Persona 5 Tactica, players will form teams of three and engage in combat that shares similarities with Persona 5's mechanics. The game is expected to have the following features:
Defeating an opponent, which triggers the "1 More!" effect, enabling an additional action.
The "Triple Threat" known as the "All-Out Attack" transpires when all three allies encircle the adversary in a triangular arrangement.
Gun attacks, featuring the Phantom Thieves' firearms from the base game.
Persona attacks, including elemental and physical moves, as well as status afflictions.
(Erina) Arts attacks, including a "Partisan" move which seems to inflict forgetfulness.
Interactive map terrain, with environmental obstacles and explosive barrels.
Moves that can push enemies from high-ground to low-ground spots (with the potential for ally follow-ups).
Persona fusion, with the help of Lavenza.
Persona 5 Tactica, in addition to its captivating gameplay, will introduce fresh music by composer Toshiki Konishi, along with vocal tracks by Lyn, who will reprise her role from previous Persona 5 titles. Apart from the main game, Tactica offers a range of downloadable content (DLC) that incorporates beloved characters into the mix through an engaging new storyline and battles in the "Repaint Your Heart Challenge Pack." While speculation suggests that Akechi and Yoshizawa may be included, their identities have not yet been confirmed. Additionally, two other DLC packs, namely the "Weapon Pack" and "Picaro Summoning Pack," provide players with distinctive weapon skins and Persona Picaros, respectively. Finally, customers who pre-order this title will receive the delightful bonus of Orpheus Picaro and Izanagi Picaro.
Persona 5 Tactica has been scheduled for release on November 17, 2023, and will be available on various platforms, including Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
