Tokyo Revengers season 3 has recently started, but it seems to be receiving much less attention compared to its first season, as observed from online activity. While some fans may attribute this to the anime being available on Disney Plus now, the actual reason is the manga series. However, why is the Tokyo Revengers manga ending receiving so much hate?
Ken Wakui's Tokyo Revengers follows the story of Hanagaki Takemichi, a man in his mid-twenties who gains the ability to travel back in time. With this power, he attempts to save his ex-girlfriend who died after getting involved with the Tokyo Manji Gang. As a result, Takemichi decides to become a key member of the gang, determined to change the tragic fate that awaits his close friends.

Even though Tokyo Revengers season 3 has already started airing, the anime is surprisingly lacking in hype. While some fans speculate that this may be due to the series' transition to Disney Plus, the true cause for the decline in excitement lies in its manga's conclusion.
Tokyo Revengers manga concluded in November 2022, disappointing fans with a lackluster ending to the Time Leap anime. Ken Wakui's decision to have Takemichi and Mikey rewrite the entire story rendered the entire journey up until that point meaningless.

The manga's ending inexplicably took Takemichi and Mikey back to 2006, before Mikey and Draken's meeting. This resulted in a complete rewriting of the timeline, erasing all the beloved friendships and relationships fans cherished, including the bonds between Mikey & Draken and Takemichi & Chifuyu.
Furthermore, there were multiple inconsistencies, with a major one being Mikey and Takemichi's ability to fix broken families, despite their young age. Even disregarding that, the manga failed to reveal anything about Shuji Hanma until the very end.

Fans reached their breaking point when Takemichi falsely claimed that he had been solely dedicated to his mission. This statement was far from the truth, as Naoto and Chifuyu had consistently supported him throughout.
