Disney+ has officially announced that it will be streaming Tokyo Revengers: Tenjiku Arc starting in October. This news was revealed during the streaming service's recent announcement of their "Asia Originals." The continuation of the Tokyo Revengers anime series on Disney+ is a result of their partnership with Kodansha. Disney+ had previously streamed the second season of Tokyo Revengers, known as "The Christmas Showdown Arc." While the anime will be available for streaming worldwide on Disney+, viewers in the US will be able to watch Tokyo Revengers: Tenjiku Arc on Hulu instead. The broadcast of Tokyo Revengers: Tenjiku Arc is scheduled for October, making it a part of the Fall anime season.
The Tenjiku Arc of Tokyo Revengers is currently in production by LIDEN FILMS, with series director Koichi Hatsumi leading the project. The returning staff includes composer Hiroaki Tsutsumi, scriptwriter Yasuyuki Mutō, character designers Keiko Ōta and Kenichi О̄nuki, and art director Rumi Matsumoto. The main cast members will reprise their roles, and new additions to the cast include Nobunaga Shimazaki as Izana Kurokawa, the new Black Dragon boss, Kouki Uchiyama as Shion Madarame, Daisuke Namikawa as Ran Haitani, Hiro Shimono as Rindo Haitani, Tetsu Inada as Kanji Mochizuki, and Seiichirō Yamashita as Kakucho.
The Tokyo Revengers anime series is based on Ken Wakui's manga of the same name, which was published in Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine. The manga ran for 31 volumes from March 2017 to November 2022. It is currently being published in English by Kodansha USA Publishing, and a spin-off manga series titled Tokyo Revengers Extra is also being serialized in the original magazine. The first season of Tokyo Revengers aired 24 episodes from April to September 2021 and was simulcast by Crunchyroll. The Christmas Showdown Arc, consisting of 13 episodes, aired from January to April 2023 and was simulcast on Disney+. The upcoming Tenjiku Arc will also be simulcast on Disney+. In addition to the anime series, Tokyo Revengers has been adapted into a live-action film series, with the first film releasing in July 2021 and two sequel films released in April and June of this year.
