Lisa Cloud refuted the speculation surrounding her son, Angus Cloud, who stars in the show Euphoria, stating that he did not die by suicide. Taking to Facebook on Friday, August 5, she addressed the rumors circulating on social media and clarified the truth behind the situation.
On Friday, Lisa expressed her gratitude for the support her family has received during this difficult time following the untimely death of Cloud at 25 years old on July 31. Lisa shared that Cloud's last day was a happy one, despite his deep grief over his father's passing from mesothelioma. He was actively organizing his room and placing items around the house, showing his intention to stay in the beloved family home for a while. Cloud also talked about his plans to support his sisters financially and emotionally while they were in college, as well as helping his mother in any way he could. It is important to note that Cloud did not have any intentions of taking his own life.
Angus' father, Conor Hickey, passed away from mesothelioma, a form of lung cancer, on May 18. Just a week before Angus' demise, he was laid to rest.
She added, "As we embraced before bedtime, we expressed our love for each other and he assured me he would see me again in the morning. I'm uncertain about what he might have consumed afterward. All I know is that he ultimately decided to rest his head on the desk where he was engrossed in his art project, drifted off to sleep, and never woke up."
Lisa dialed 911 on Monday morning in Oakland, California, reporting a "possible overdose" after discovering Angus lifeless. Paramedics confirmed his death upon arrival.
In a heartfelt Facebook post, Lisa stressed, "While it may transpire that he experienced an accidental and tragic overdose, it is undeniably evident that he did not intend to leave this world. He faced genuine struggles, yet he consistently gave and received immense love and support from his community. His contributions in promoting euphoria served as a catalyst for his generation, sparking conversations about compassion, loyalty, acceptance, and love."
Angus' mother shared that when he was around 15, he miraculously survived a head injury that typically results in death. Despite this, he was given an additional 10 years which he filled with creativity and love. She requested that fans honor his memory by incorporating random acts of kindness into their daily lives.
The actor achieved recognition for playing Fezco on the television series Euphoria. Zendaya, who is both his co-star and executive producer, paid tribute to Angus on August 1st through a heartfelt post on Instagram. In the post, the Emmy winner expressed her gratitude for knowing Angus (Conor) and referred to him as her brother, highlighting his warm and kind eyes, bright smile, and infectious laughter that brings joy.
