Angus Cloud's father, Conor Hickey, passed away earlier this year due to a brief illness. Hickey, who had a successful rugby career at Ashbourne AFC and was part of the O'Connell Cup winning team in 1979, moved to California in the 80s. He initially settled in Los Angeles but eventually made the Bay Area of San Francisco his home. Tragically, Cloud was still grieving his father's loss when he himself died on Monday, July 31.

Although Cloud went by his middle name "Angus," his legal first name was Conor, which was a tribute to his father. Remembering his late dad, Cloud wrote "Miss u breh" in one of his last Instagram posts on July 14.

Cloud, who passed away on Monday at the age of 25, gained recognition for his role as Fezco in HBO's Euphoria. The family's statement confirming his death mentioned Cloud's strong bond with his father, who was laid to rest in Ireland, their home country, the previous week.

With great sorrow, we bid farewell to an extraordinary individual today. Angus, being an artist, a friend, a brother, and a son, held a special place in all our hearts," Cloud's family conveyed to TMZ. "Having buried his father just last week, he faced immense difficulty in coping with this profound loss. Our solace lies in the knowledge that Angus is now reunited with his beloved father, who was his closest companion."

While the cause of his death has not been disclosed, Cloud's family acknowledged his previous battle with mental health challenges.

“We hope that his passing serves as a reminder to others that they are not alone in their struggles and should not suffer in silence,” they expressed. “May the world always remember him for his incredible sense of humor, contagious laughter, and unwavering love for everyone. During this deeply tragic time, we kindly ask for privacy as we continue to come to terms with this heartbreaking loss.”

On Monday, we received confirmation that Cloud’s mother, Lisa Cloud, contacted 911 to report a “possible overdose” moments before her son was declared deceased. The Oakland Police Department swiftly responded to Angus’ residence around 11:30 a.m. PT after Lisa urgently reached out to dispatch, informing them that her son was unresponsive. Despite the efforts of the first responders, Angus was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Messages of condolences and tributes poured in from friends and colleagues of the late actor following the news of his death. The official Twitter account for Euphoria shared a message expressing deep sadness and acknowledging Angus Cloud's immense talent and valued presence within the HBO and Euphoria family. They extended their sincerest condolences to his loved ones during this difficult time.

Colman Domingo, who portrays Rue's sponsor, shared a heartfelt photo on his Instagram Story featuring himself and Angus. Domingo, 53, described Angus as authentic, unique, and kind-hearted, expressing his love for the young actor. He also reflected on the importance of checking in on and supporting our loved ones.
