Sydney Martin, Angus Cloud's rumored on-and-off girlfriend, expressed her condolences following the sudden passing of the 25-year-old actor. On Monday, July 31, the 22-year-old shared a series of Instagram Story posts in response to the news. While her initial post consisted of several broken heart emojis without mentioning Cloud's name, her subsequent upload included a throwback photo of him. Along with the picture, she wrote, "I am devastated. You will always hold a special place in my heart."

Martin proceeded to share a video featuring herself and Cloud, seemingly recorded at their residence, accompanied by the song "Money Trees" by Kendrick Lamar. Additionally, Martin shared a series of four personal photos, with one capturing a tender moment of her kissing Cloud's cheek while he embraced her.

Alongside a photograph displaying street art presumably created by Cloud, Martin expressed her commitment to ensuring he is never forgotten. The artwork depicted a Christmas tree adorned with the heartfelt message, "MERRY X-MAS I LOVE YOU — ANGUS 2021."

While Martin and Cloud never publicly acknowledged their romantic relationship, their tender displays in various photographs had already circulated widely on social media. In one earlier post, Martin lovingly embraced Cloud in a sequence of mirror selfies. Accompanying the images, Martin captioned them with, "Just 2 more days until the release of Euphoria season 2" (The much-anticipated second season of the HBO drama premiered in January 2022).

Cloud's family announced his passing in a statement to TMZ on Monday. In the statement, they expressed the heavy heart with which they had to bid farewell to this remarkable individual. Angus, who was not only an artist but also a friend, brother, and son, held a special place in all of their lives. They mentioned that Angus had recently experienced the loss of his father, and this had greatly affected him. However, they find solace in the knowledge that Angus is now reunited with his beloved dad, who was his closest companion.

The family went on to mention that Angus had been open about his struggles with mental health. They expressed their hope that his passing will serve as a reminder to others that they are not alone in their battles and that they don't have to fight silently. They added that they would like the world to remember Angus for his sense of humor, laughter, and his love for everyone. Finally, they requested privacy as they try to come to terms with this heartbreaking loss.

Cloud's father, Conor Hickey, passed away in May following a brief illness. Last week, the Hickey family laid Conor to rest in Ireland.

Prior to Cloud being declared deceased, his mother contacted 911 and reported a "possible overdose." On Monday at approximately 11:30 a.m. PT, the Oakland Police Department arrived at Cloud's residence in response to his mother's call, stating that her son was unresponsive. Medical personnel ultimately declared Cloud deceased upon reaching the location.
