All the rewards for finding lost books in Assassin's Creed: Mirage showcase the game's adherence to the series' long-established template. As with past installments, Mirage offers players a plethora of collectibles to discover. Despite some streamlining, these items remain an integral aspect of the franchise, akin to smoke bombs and hidden blades. Fortunately, Assassin's Creed: Mirage demonstrates greater attention to detail by incorporating collectibles more seamlessly into the game's overarching lore. A prime illustration of this can be found in the Lost Books feature.
AC Mirage Lost Books Explained
Throughout Basim's journey, he will encounter Lost Books on multiple occasions. These valuable items can be discovered as soon as he embarks on his new role as a Hidden One initiate in the bustling streets of Baghdad. This comprehensive guide will not only provide the exact locations of each Lost Book but also offer guidance on how to appropriately handle them once they are acquired.
Assassin's Creed: MIrage's Lost Books are a unique set of collectibles, discovered early on by Basim. As he stumbles upon the initial book, a new quest, 'The Bookworm', commences automatically. It is revealed that Basim's primary objective is to deliver each book to Al-Jahiz, found at the House of Wisdom. Initially, there are 6 books listed, making it the first task to accomplish within this mission.
Lost Book 1: Harbiyah – Kalila wa-Dimna
Players can find the first Lost Book, Kalila wa-Dimna, in Assassin's Creed: Mirage. There is no specified order for finding or returning the books, so players are free to approach the list in any sequence. The Kalila wa-Dimna is conveniently located in a section of Baghdad that Basim can access early on in AC Mirage.
To locate the Book, players should head to the Kalila and Dimna Historical Site, situated on the eastern edge of the Great Mosque district. It is positioned just before the river that separates it from the Tomb of Zubaydah. Once in the general area, Enkidu can be used to pinpoint the exact location of the Book. The Pathfinder Skill in AC Mirage may also prove useful here, although it appears that Enkidu's basic observation powers will reveal the Lost Books.
