The game features special screen grain and parkour mechanics reminiscent of the beloved Ezio games. The Ubisoft Forward presentation for Assassin's Creed Mirage opened with Basim's introduction to the Tenants and their symbolic use of feathers. The Order of the Ancient members were also introduced, wearing masks and raising questions about the Hidden Ones and their beliefs in freedom. The game explores themes of freedom, sacrifice, and self-discovery, with the bustling world of Baghdad and Basim's personal journey influencing his understanding of the Creed.

Gameplay footage showcased what happens after Basim's initial meeting with the assassins, where he reports to his mentor Roshan and proceeds to carry out an assassination before making his escape. The trailer highlighted parkour and stealth as key gameplay mechanics, with Ezio comparisons being drawn.
