Robin Thicke had known Meghan Markle even prior to her becoming the Duchess of Sussex. During his marriage in 2005, Markle had written his wedding invitations in calligraphy, as revealed by Thicke, 46, during an interview with We for their "25 Things You Don’t Know About Me" feature.

Markle, now 42, supported herself through calligraphy before pursuing acting. Paula Patton, the Masked Singer judge and Markle's ex-wife, hired her at the age of 23 for her exceptional handwriting skills. This job holds a special place in Markle's memory.

Markle shared with Esquire in 2013 that she attended an all-girls Catholic school where she had the opportunity to learn handwriting for six years. She developed a talent for cursive writing and eventually utilized it as a side job while she pursued acting auditions. Markle worked on calligraphy for high-profile events such as Robin Thicke and Paula Patton's wedding, taking on her pseudo-waitressing role.
