In Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, the game is now in motion as V takes charge of Aymeric and Aurore's vehicle. Their objective is to ensure a successful meeting with Kurt Hansen and Songbird. However, before that can happen, they must locate the vehicle and transport it to a secluded area to avoid any potential complications or unwanted witnesses. This thrilling mission, known as the prelude to Firestarter, will not only involve a high-stakes car chase but also some discreet investigation to uncover valuable information about Aymeric, Aurore, and a potential bonus related to the deceased Voodoo Boys Netrunner, Slider, from The Damned mission.
It’s recommended to create a backup file prior to initiating I’ve Seen That Face Before. This is because once the mission is completed, players will be unable to backtrack and will progress directly to the subsequent mission, Firestarter. This mission presents various choices and consequences that will ultimately influence the outcome.
Call Reed
After exploring the depths of Farida, the covert Ripperdoc located in Dogtown, players will have effectively acquired a sleek, new facial disguise. This ingenious faceplate allows them to seamlessly assume the identities of the FIA targets they are diligently pursuing. To ensure the smooth execution of their mission, players must promptly contact Reed and provide a thorough update on their progress.
Watch For The Netrunners’ Car
Getting to the Cassel twins requires Reed and V to have a vantage point to watch for their vehicle as it enters Dogtown. If players choose to start the I’ve Seen That Face Before quest at Farida’s Ripperdoc clinic, they will conveniently be located near the vantage point. Otherwise, players can simply follow the waypoint to reach the vantage point. After the phone call with Reed, players are required to reach the vantage point, which is conveniently situated on a nearby rooftop. The ascent is relatively straightforward, with a variety of ladders and sections of scaffolding that V can effortlessly traverse. Once in position, players await the arrival of their targeted vehicle. In order to identify the correct vehicle, players must utilize their Optic Scanner to scan the passing vehicles at the intersection to the right of their vantage point.
A few occurrences will take place prior to the vehicle's arrival, such as a truck accident. Players will be able to identify the correct car when Aymeric and Aurore arrive in a Quadra Sports R-7 "Charon" with its distinctive black and yellow stripe pattern. Once the car is spotted, simply observe it from a vantage point, where it will soon park and Aymeric and Aurore will enter a building. From there, descend to the location of the vehicle and conceal yourself inside the trunk.
Should You Eavesdrop On Aymeric And Aurore?
Once players have connected to the car system, they will gain access to both the controls and the cameras. A total of four cameras are available for use: one positioned towards Aymeric and Aurore, one on each side mirror, and another facing the road. These cameras can be utilized to secretly listen in on Aymeric and Aurore's conversation. However, this comes with the drawback of agitating Reed, who becomes frustrated when V fails to take control of the vehicle as requested.
Take Control of the Car
It would be wise to secretly listen in on Aymeric and Aurore's conversation, as these skilled Netrunner siblings will provide valuable information regarding their upcoming meeting with Kurt Hansen. Once you have had three opportunities to eavesdrop, they will delve into the mysterious disappearance of Slider, the renowned Netrunner from the Voodoo Boys. By gathering information through covert listening, you will later receive the Blind_N_Dead datashard, which is essential for progressing in the mission. This data shard, in turn, unlocks a unique Voodoo Treasure Side Job, adding an exciting twist to your adventure.
After eavesdropping or receiving the green light from Reed, players must assert their dominance over the vehicle and seize control of the steering wheel. They will have the opportunity to commandeer Aymeric and Aurore's vehicle, but time is of the essence as they must swiftly navigate to the designated rendezvous point where Reed and Alex patiently await their arrival. Expect fierce resistance from V, as Aymeric and Aurore, proficient Netrunners, engage in a formidable battle for control of the vehicle, resulting in a challenging experience when it comes to maintaining the desired course and navigating at high velocities.
Players need to simply adhere to the designated route and follow the waypoint in order to safely transport the vehicle to its intended location. One of the potential hazards of eavesdropping is the prolonged time the vehicle remains outside of V's jurisdiction, thereby increasing the distance between the vehicle and its destination, relative to Alex and Reed. However, if players accelerate their speed, they will still have ample time to complete the task.
Become the Cassel Twins
While driving to the designated meeting point, Reed and Alex execute a cunning plan to extricate the twins from the vehicle, utilizing a taser to immobilize them. Consequently, what initially seemed like a straightforward abduction takes an unexpected turn, transforming into a convoluted homicide. In order to eliminate any potential witnesses who might disrupt their scheme, Alex and Reed eliminate the Cassel twins, ensuring a seamless transition into assuming the roles of Aurore and Aymeric for both Alex and V. Undoubtedly, this approach eliminates the need for resorting to violence, providing a smoother path towards their ulterior motives.
After the demise of the Cassel twins, players must approach Aurore's lifeless body to extract the Cynosure access code by hacking into her. If players had previously overheard their conversation regarding Slider, they will also acquire the Blind_N_Dead datashard, granting access to the Voodoo Treasure side job. Subsequently, players should search Aymeric's belongings to obtain his attire.
With these tasks accomplished, players simply need to enter the vehicle and insert the behavioral imprint shard; this will enable them to assume the guise of Aymeric Cassel, with Alex in the passenger seat playing the role of Aurore. This marks the start of the Firestarter mission, signifying a point of no return.
